That will decrease the max. wind but make the windfield larger. It then might have a chance to restregthen again before landfall which is the absolute worst case scenario.
 
If it doesn't one of these hurricanes eventually is going to finish the job. It's only a matter of time.

If only someone could have warned you this was going to happen. But I seem to recall being mocked when making the effort.
 
Certainly seems like this one might involve quite a bit of damage, hopefully it ends up being less severe than predicted.
 
Dang it, it looks like it might hit close to Tampa I was hoping the hurricane leveled this place.

This is pretty cool. They're planning to fly an experimental weather drone at low level to do things that they can't safely do with the manned hurricane hunter aircraft.

It's too late for them to reverse course .. since they thought it was coming through tampa bay originally.. now it's looking like fort myers/Lee County
