Conor never defended either belt.
Yep, would be equally as legitimate as her 145 belt
I would say it is 100% inarguable Nunes is the worst considering her 2nd belt is in a division that isnt complete enough to be called a division.
Then 2nd must be conor due to privileged match making and zero defences.
After that is when the actual debate probably begins
Decent compared to what? Almost every double champ is an all time great that is better than McGregor and had more impressive title reigns.I think Conor's is decent, his two championship winning performances are up there with the best performances in the UFC. (in b4 excuses why they aren't as good..)
And Conor did spend a whole fight camp getting ready for Aldo, a guy who would never in a million years shoot for a takedown. Only to have it switched to a wrestler in Mendes on two weeks notice, a fight Conor went into with a torn ACL to boot.
Mendes two weeks same as Mendes full camp? Obviously fucking not but the fact that he went from a zero TD guy in Aldo to Mendes and did it with a torn ACL has to be respected.
Yep. Winning 2 belts is huge for whoever does it. However they have done it.Decent compared to what? Almost every double champ is an all time great that is better than McGregor and had more impressive title reigns.
You're contesting that McGregor's wasn't the second worst in that post, but you haven't actually compared it to anyone elses. Just said something like he did well in two fights (his win against Aldo is not an all time performance, there have been many early round KOs) and uh...Chad Mendes? Who wasn't involved in his double title reign, may as well bring up Nate Diaz if you bring up Mendes.
Nunes still beat some juggernaut fighters. I mean Eddie Alvarez, which is McGregor's best performance and his second best win, is nowhere near Valentina, Cyborg, or even Ronda (relative to Ronda's time, she was obviously way ahead).Yep. Winning 2 belts is huge for whoever does it. However they have done it.
We're are comparing a small number of people who have done this. Its clear to me Nunes is laughable in comparison to the men and Conor never defending either obviously takes him well below the other guys. Even if individually its a great thing to achieve.

McGregor is not that high up on the all time great FW listing, and isnt' even ranking at LW. Pretty much every other double champ is way more respected other than Cejudo. Even Topuria has probably already got a better resume or equal to McGregor.
I could see how that guy may have been saying that with the "easy matchmaking". I definitely disagree with that. McGregor fought appropriate competition for his time.I should've been more clear in my post and I perhaps also made a poor assumption of the post I responded to. I got the feeling he was essentially saying that Conor's double champ status was dog shit so I wanted to refute that. But yes I agree that the other double champs have more impressive overall careers.
Me? I said privileged match making. Not easyI could see how that guy may have been saying that with the "easy matchmaking". I definitely disagree with that. McGregor fought appropriate competition for his time.
He was finishing his opponents too, even if he wasnt a big personality he would have gotten a title shot just based on that.
Because I like to nit-pick for no real reason. So there have been 5 fighters who have simultaneously been champions in 2 divisions:
1. Connor, the first to do it, and some will say the worst as he never defended the belt, but he gets bonus for being the biggest star in the world at the time and also being the first to do it in the UFC.
2. Dan Henderson in pride. Absolute legend, and underrated legend who always falls short of the GOAT list and is overlooked.
5. Cejudo, Despite defending the belt in both divisions, he retired before he could get any traction. Some say he ducked yan. When he came back 4 years later he can't win and seems to be a can. He screwed up his legacy with the quick retirement and some will debate if he is even HOF.
I think the fact cejudo was a simultaneous double champ and defended both belts yet people question if he is HOF answers my question. He is the worst champ champ in UFC history. He really ruined his legacy with his retirement. But by retiring it saved him from being exposed as I doubt anyone thinks he could have beat Figuerdo, Pantoja, Kai Kai, Moreno or Royval at Flw.
DJ wasn't against fighting Dillashaw, he felt he was underpaid for accepting a big fight.Because I like to nit-pick for no real reason.
I thought it was odd you felt the need to say Conor was the first to do it, then clean it up saying he was the first in the UFC to do it. But never acknowledged Henderson did it first. Weird you named all of the others except for Randy Couture. The only fighter to have multiple reigns in two divisions.
Conor is the worst for me; never even tried to defend his belts. Conor beat a guy many still include in their goat argument in Aldo, and Alvarez had one of the more underrated careers at 155 until the Dustin rematch. So there's no argument on who he beat to become champ, but after that it all stops, there were no negotiation breakdowns. No injuries, he wasn't figured out and he didn't get old, he just said no because he made fuck you money and if it hadn't been for his vices we likely wouldn't have seen him again after the Mayweather fight.
Cejudo is the king of cringe, cherry picked his 135 defense and tried to get out while he was on top, but he still fought TJ when Johnson wouldn't. He still tried to prove a point when he moved up.
Officially.... NopeIt didnt though, the division hung around like a smelly fart. Its still there now isnt it?
I didn't say why DJ, just that he wouldn't. Regardless, it's a huge feather in the cap of Cejudo to do itDJ wasn't against fighting Dillashaw, he felt he was underpaid for accepting a big fight.
I think if he kept fighting, he would have beat all the people you listed.
3. DC, legend, defends at both belts and a good way for his career to escape the shadow of his big brother Jon Jones.
4. Amanda Nunes, it's only WMMA, but she is the GOAT in that and Justin Trudeau favorite fighter.
5. Cejudo, Despite defending the belt in both divisions, he retired before he could get any traction. Some say he ducked yan. When he came back 4 years later he can't win and seems to be a can. He screwed up his legacy with the quick retirement and some will debate if he is even HOF. Most would say he can't even beat anyone in the current FLW top 5.
Other Double Champs:
1. BJ Penn. A maverick and pioneer of the modern mma fighting style. One of the first to excel in all aspects of MMA.
2. GSP - Recognized as the absolute GOAT
3. Jon Jones - Definite mount rushmore, top 3 all time easy
4. Alex P - the modern p4p #1. Possibly 3 division champ. The face of the UFC post covid era.
5. Ilia Top - Modern p4p top 3 with alex and islam. One of the top faces of the UFC post covid era.

He had 5 UFC fights at LHW, 24 fights at MW in the UFC.A WW fighting a career LHW for the belt felt like a gift to you?
He didnt say any of that. He was comparing double champs, all of which are greatly accomplished.Agreed!
Olympic medallist and double UFC champ.
What a loser, bum piece of shit and complete tool.
