Is DDP the latest delusional champ?

Well, he's kind of in a shitty position as far as exciting fights. The Adesanya fight is definitely a big one though but that one will catch flack for giving Adesanya an immediate titleshot after a loss and layoff. Giving Sean another one right now is unnecessary, and then you got a boring matchup like Cannonier.
Enter Khamzat.

Conspiracy theories are for the stupid. Enjoy them brother.
Most ignorant thing ive read on sherdog and thats saying a lot. Go rest that empty head and sleep, you basic sheep of a submale

Hey everyone look at me, ive got a big truck, but a small brain lol

That white belt thread rule needs to come back

Sean never even defended his belt once. No way he deserves an automatic rematch, sorry. Even GSP had to win some fights to get back to a 2nd title early in his career.

Yeah brother the government is out to get you and has micro ships in vaccines to track your every movement... Don't worry about cell phones bc they are safe.... Tinfoil bro tinfoil...

After a war like that he can pretty much say whatever he wants and I wouldn’t judge him. Fought his ass off, took everything Sean had and just kept coming at him. A rematch would be fine but shouldn’t be automatic imo, not like Sean was a long term champ or anything.

Love Sean or hate him, loved that fight or hated it, he deserves that rematch.
Not a great fan of his but yeah I think he clearly does, no he's not a dominant champ but the fight was so close it needs to happen again, prefferable soon.

DPP's champ but honestly I don't think this fight make him look good at all, you kind of knew Stickland would do what he always does but DPP's as this destroyer who runs though everyone really did not turn up, Stickland made him look sloppy and ineffective for much of the fight.

I mean it was a close fight that could have gone either way, but thinking he won 4 and 5? I don't know anyone, but on the internet who gave him 5.

And then, to make matters worse, after giving Sean some compliments and saying again how close it was, he doesn't even mention him when asked about who's next.

Love Sean or hate him, loved that fight or hated it, he deserves that rematch.

fwiw

Shertardia in 3, 2, 1...
Like almost every fighter doesn't have delusions about what rounds they won in the immediate aftermath of a fight. WHy does a guy with zero successful title defenses deserve a rematch? Saying that only exposes you as a strickland fanboi who would blow him given the chance.

LOL
Like Aldo and Connor?

And it doesn't change that DDP is delusional. I was a fan. I bet him. But that was pathetic.
I'm still a fan of DDP, dont think he deserved the W, but him winning a decision..... he's not the judge, and the recipient, take all the W's you can get.

Oh man, did he say that? That's pretty clearly wrong.

Cuz he just beat him.

Love Sean or hate him, loved that fight or hated it, he deserves that rematch.
I'm not sure how that's justified. I mean, it was his first defense, it's not like he was some long reigning champ

strickland arguably won the fight, landing more strikes in 4 of the 5 rounds according to strike stats, but really, it was more than that.

I'm convinced that punched landed to the shoulder, count as "landed" strikes for DDP, he didnt land 29 shots in round 3 or 4.

you get outstruck in 4 out of 5 rounds and win the fight....... strickland deserves a rematch.

Not all significant strikes are created equal. Quantity is one thing, quality is another. Damage is a factor. The fight was a toss up.
I think you are missing the fact that sean was wobbled zero times, just like the fact that DDP took a lot more shots and walked through sean's hardest shots. Sean landed more significant strikes in all but one round.

1.) its MMA not boxing.
2.) Round 3 is really the only round up for debate IMO and I had Sean winning it closely. I was rooting for DDP but I would have scored the decisive round 3 for Sean. that being said:

I hate the scoring system and I hate the need for a decision to be made so fast and for their to need to be a winner. Dricus did not win anything. Either give it to Strickland since he's the only won that won clear rds or have it go to an extra rd.

i thought it was clear that DDP won rds. he definitely won rd 4. the only rd that was clear for Sean was rd 1.

yes, but his significant strikes are jabs. that's the problem. people are counting jabs as significant strikes. how is it significant if it never deters DDP from doing what he wants? to me, a significant jab is something that clearly deters the other guy from doing something. if it doesn't, it's not significant. that's literally the meaning of significant "to be worthy of attention" but if the guy doesn't give a shit and keeps walking forward, how can it be that attention grabbing if he's doing exactly what he'd be doing if you weren't punching him?

Sean had back to back losses against Alex and Cannonier. He then fought two un-ranked opponents, one making their literal UFC debut.

When you trip and fall into a title shot you could not earn, then lose the title immediately, you do not get an instant rematch. Its absurd on its face.

Driccus is now 7-0 in the UFC with 5 finishes. He's going to get a new matchup that is more entertaining than that point fighting stinker. Sean is unlikely to get another title shot without being a fill in.
Sean hasn't fought anyone making their UFC debut though.

they did enough to keep ddp away from grappling exchanges

on the flip side, ddp's significant strikes often landed when strickland was avoiding those power shots. They werent often flush. It's nice that DDP has an iron will to win, an unwaivering chin, and double lung, however, he did get tagged enough to keep him outside of a slugfest and grappling distance for most of the fight.

round 4 was close, round 3, strickland landed significantly more, and it was plain to see that they were the more effective shots.

judges gonna judge, sean should have aimed to "win" more of the rounds convincingly.
