Is Conor McGregor a fighting legend?

He will definitely go down as a legend, but he still lost to Nate Diaz and that asterisk will exist forever.

In my opinion he is some kind of journey man. Like MMA is just a big step in his life. He gave me a lot of fun. Is he a legend? I wouldnt call him that, but he is very easy to remember. I liked featherweight before Connor happened but still I'm happy it is like it is. Evrything that makes sport more popular for casuals is probably good for me. More money in MMA = better fights ( not always but you know what i mean ). I can call Jose Aldo a legend, he was featherweight champion for very long time, he got a lot of respect from me.

I can name few legends :

Fedor
Anderson
GSP
Lyoto Machida
Shogun Rua
Rampage

Wanderlei
Minotauro

and many others...

Without those guys probably sport wouldnt be in the place that is now. Without Connor UFC would still be best organisation in the world with great fights.

He brought out some legends on Sherdog, in the worst way possible.

they're both legends and it absolutely does. Legend is not what most people, you included apparently, think it is.

it's a word that means something. here:

Nerd

at this mpoint he's like a buster douglas to me.

I assume he'll be a flash in the pan that will be relatively forgotten not too far in the future. But he could prove me wrong.

He is a pioneer of trash talking. Like real witty, real-time trash talking, not the lame premeditated kind Chael Sonnen does. Sure Conor sometimes goes on the script, but he is remarkable off the cuff too. "I can rest these nuts on your forhead".

He made the featherweight division from obscure and ignored to relevant. Face it, noone gave a crap about Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes excluding the marks on this forum.

He revitalized Nate Diaz's career.

He is the only one to outsell BROOCKKKKK!!! LESSNARRR!!!

The dude is the biggest star in UFC history. If he is not a fookin legend, then noone is a legend.
He spent hours in the mirror thinking of witty lines to say.

Legend among legends.

The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be! (after GSP)

I'm surprised some of those lame gifs/memes haven't become blurry from overuse. Every thread. Funny for about a week. So what if I'm still butthurt. He's still the best (after GSP...and cruz!)

He's made history, he has to win this rematch though. His image is in the balance.

Since when is making money and selling tickets make you a fighting legend. Most won't out Brock at the top yet he outsold most. So sick of McDowells comparisons with McDonald's

other than all the things you posted here, which are opinions besides maybe the Brock thing which I give zero fucks about, he knocked out the long standing champ in 13 seconds. That alone makes him a legend. Legend status is easier to achieve than a lot of people think.

So Buster Douglas is a legend
