Is Conor McGregor a fighting legend?

He is also no doubt a legendary pioneer of touchbutt discipline.

Agreed. Biggest legend in MMA up to this point. Took Ali's trash talking and footwork to the next level. I think if he runs for office after retirement he could become a bigger transcendent star than Ali.

Always in search of that popcorn.

He is a pioneer of trash talking. Like real witty, real-time trash talking, not the lame premeditated kind Chael Sonnen does. Sure Conor sometimes goes on the script, but he is remarkable off the cuff too. "I can rest these nuts on your forhead".

He made the featherweight division from obscure and ignored to relevant. Face it, noone gave a crap about Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes excluding the marks on this forum.

He revitalized Nate Diaz's career.

He is the only one to outsell BROOCKKKKK!!! LESSNARRR!!!

The dude is the biggest star in UFC history. If he is not a fookin legend, then noone is a legend.

I think he's a legend, to command the amount of money, he has in the UFC. He has a good fighting resume, but that won't make him a legend....

I don't know what to say

No, but there's potential if he keeps fighting. I like fighters that go up in weight, fight often, and have knockout power.

I hope he keeps fighting if he loses his FW belt. He's a great fighter. People may not like his talk, but you have to as a fan love his fighting style.

if by legend you mean myth then his grappling is a legend

He's a fighter that will be remembered. If he comes back even stronger now he will become a legend indeed. For now I'd just say he is an amazing fighter and a ''once in a lifetime'' personality.

other than all the things you posted here, which are opinions besides maybe the Brock thing which I give zero fucks about, he knocked out the long standing champ in 13 seconds. That alone makes him a legend. Legend status is easier to achieve than a lot of people think.

nope, not yet. Starching a p4p great like Aldo was a good start then getting murked by Diaz was a dramatic fall off.

You are a legendary nuthugger. A nuthugger of all nuthuggers.

Disagree. Beating a legend does not in turn make you a legend also. e.g. Buster Douglas, Matt Serra etc

they're both legends and it absolutely does. Legend is not what most people, you included apparently, think it is.

To me he is. Not on paper but in terms of promotion, personality and originality. There will never be another Conor.

"steroids? What are you talking about steroids?

Don’t be putting my name with steroids. I’m major against that.

Don’t put my name in the name of steroids Nate."

yoel romero-esque in his communications skills, joe

I like him, but he could be known as a legendary flash in a pan. MMA's version of Prince Naseem. Except Naseem probably had a better career than him.
