Is american wrestling getting useless?

Young people were too young back then to remember but W invading Iraq on those fake WMDs with all the retarded born-again Christian crowd, the freedom-fries thing, etc. In terms of image, these were really dark times for Murrka' image. It got better under Obama, then turned bad again under Trump (but Trump never did anythign bad - just saying that the standard attitude for sheeps around the world is to hate Trump because it is the standard attitude to have). Now for some reason most people like Biden, but to many people like myself, the woke trash is spreading fomr the USA, so that is also an image problem. Moral of the story, USA has a hard-time not going full-retard in one direction or the other.

I do see things a bit different, the left vs right paradigm is an obvious obfuscation from the reality that it's actually haves vs have nots (i.e. a top / down problem, not left / right one). Obama was only damage control to the imagine after the Bush disaster. But it has been business as usual for Obama, Trump and now Biden, there are no deviations from the norm.
If you think I am wrong, I would challenge you to name a few real policy deviations from Trump to Biden as an example. I would offer the fact that in Obama's term as well as in Biden's term the Dems have had the House, Senate and Presidency and have passed a total amount of 0 "progressive / woke" policies with the power that they have. That for me is exhibit A to the fact that it's all kabuki theater.

I live in germany and can tell you that america has no left representation, so all the narrative of the "crazy leftists" that the yanks have going on is a huge joke to the rest of the civilized world. The corporations have taken over american politics and till they don't remove money out of politics that country is doomed.

It's like BJJ - you still need to know it for defensive purposes, but if it's all you have you will eventually get fucked by well rounded fighters.

I think collegiate wrestling still produces the most ufc fighters. The big stars these days seem to be doing things other than UFC since its easier to make money as a high level wrestler outside of ufc.

Kinda think about it there are very fell fighters that come from a college background and are using wrestling as their main weapon in the highest level. Of champions i think usman is the only one right now and even him is favoring a more striking aproach lately, seems like the truly heavy grapplers are the caucasian ones only they seem to be truly heavy on it in 2021.
Is american style wrestling basically dying in the mma scene?

I disagree, the UFC have ostracised elite wrestlers and released the ones that use it as their main weapon of attack.

Dana White wants a pseudo-boxing promotion, and that's what he's making the UFC.

Bellator have tons of elite wrestlers that wrestle - some of them did well in the UFC and STILL got released, because the UFC is a business run be a megalomaniac and not a legitimate competition-based organisation.

It is what it is. Perhaps Dana is right, perhaps he's wrong; crowds seem to hate wrestling and view it as stalling unless it's backed up by vicious slams, GnP and striking. That doesn't mean elite wrestlers don't exist, and it certainly doesn't mean they aren't successful - it won't be long before he starts binning off the Chechen's who are winning but not finishing fights, particularly if they can't make him any money. Khabib was a one off in terms of making bank, and that was almost entirely down to facing off against Conor.
