When did i say it was?Wrestling was not created in the USA.

Mendes GnP'd the shit out of him.
wtf??
Blasting a double leg has limited utility. Caucasus fighters have judo, Sambo, wrestling, and submissions all in one. You're just seeing the other aspects of their game shine.
Lol @ Sterling.Dying? Like more than half of ALL the fighters are Americans and a good chunk of them wrestlers.
Usman is the most dominant champion UFC has and he's an American style wrestler, Sterling was a collegiate wreslter too.
One single discipline can't fucking dominate everything forever, doesn't mean it's dying. Just as BJJ didn't die.
Guess some of you are more triggered by this being an American thing.
From watching ufc for an idea about wrestling since I don't watch it for the Olympics, it seems that the dagestans and Russians are far more superior in the wrestling aspect. Like the saying goes, they're just build differently. More tougher mindset and willing to dig through the trenches when shit hits the fan. Lotta americans don't got that grit. I'm not a wrestling nerd but I learned a lot from watching mma.
Which would be a very stupid thing to do. USA is a close second to Russia when it comes to freestyle wrestling, so it is still at the very top. And let's be real, here: without Caucasians, Russia would hardly be on the radar. The whole Caucasus region (including Georgia and Azerbaidjian) accounts for like 1/3 of all olympic medals in 2020 and it's roughly the same in judo, I think. Caucasians are wrestling and judo freaks, period, and are superior at anyone else, this is not against USA.It's the cool thing to hate or shit on everything American even Americans do it too.
The grit in American wrestling is a well-known fact even in Russian wrestling, so yeah that statement was horseshit. They (the russians) mix it with judo, thats the big problem everyone has with it. It has nothing to do with grit. Go tell Kurt Angle, the A M E R I C A N olympic gold medalist who won it with a broken neck, that "lotta americans dont got that grit"
It really started with W Bush, that's true. The rest of the world has been doing that for the past 20 years.
Laughing at Americans is a global tradition at this point.

Spot on, Clinton didn't do himself any favours, but Bush really took the mask off of the whole thing.
At least there is something the whole world can agree on, to point and laugh at the US. Whatever unites us, I'll take it.
It’s just that the standard in Russia and the Caucasus is a lot higher, mainly blended with judo and sambo making it an easier transition to MMA, the best kickboxers aren’t necessarily the best MMA strikers etc and it’s the same with wrestling, MMA is differentKinda think about it there are very fell fighters that come from a college background and are using wrestling as their main weapon in the highest level. Of champions i think usman is the only one right now and even him is favoring a more striking aproach lately, seems like the truly heavy grapplers are the caucasian ones only they seem to be truly heavy on it in 2021.
Is american style wrestling basically dying in the mma scene?
