I think one of the big differences I see between American and Caucasian fighters is how they use wrestling in fights. Most American fighters (bar Usman and Colby) shoot for takedowns opportunistically whereas Caucasian fighters relentlessly chase the take down. Americans are content striking and shooting for a single takedown when the opportunity presents itself. Russians with judo/ sambo backgrounds will chain wrestle with one takedown leading to the next some just used as set ups
