International Iran Moves To Block Oil Route

Crude Oil futures open. It's not soaring just yet, but it seems on track to break this year highs in January.

We could easily stop a blockade, but that is a severe escalation.
I'm skeptical the Security Council follows through on it. Cautiously optimistic, anyway. Maybe they're dumb enough to do it.

This isn't one of their usual decisions involving arms for the boy-- some hapless idiot over in Yemen or Lebanon or Iraq or Syria or Palestine-- who will do the dying for them. This would almost certainly trigger a liquidation of the regime and everyone currently sitting in these seats. It would be a proud, strong decision. It would also probably be the last one any of them ever makes.

I would prefer we don't go that way, but Iran is the aggrieved, so it's their choice. I have been expecting a reprisal that is more symbolic. Their typical play. Something to make it look like they're strong, like they're standing up to the bully, for optics, when in reality it's measured enough they know the big bully won't shove them in the locker. Figured they'd try to bomb a US ship or some US base in the region. But maybe they simply can't.

Might be a good time to fill your gas tank up now as oil gets expensive. Will be interesting how this develops as Inflation is likely to be back on the move. Plus the tariff situation.

Poors seemingly can’t catch a break.

I think we don’t even get 2% of our oil from them. This will mostly hurt China and their BRICS buddies. We can easily compensate and then even make money if we produce more energy and export, if Iran decide to stop, all while hurting CCP, KGB, best Korea, etc.

I mean, gas prices were at record lows under Trump with sanctions on Iran and no one cried

Actually, ratcheting up the escalators ladder would have created an embargo blockade on Iran and sanctions, to cut off their energy revenues. If they want to self impose that, by all means, right?

Iran's parliament approved a measure June 22 endorsing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a major oil transportation route, following U.S. airstrikes in Iran.

Around 20% of the world's oil and gas flow through the narrow channel connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. Its closure would likely mean rising fuel costs for global consumers, including Americans.

Great higher gas prices, more wars.
I was reading 80% of the oil that goes through this strait is being sent to Asia.

I was reading that 80% of the oil exported through this straight are going to Asia markets. So I think they would lose favor with china, which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

I wonder what all the retards who voted Trump because they wanted $1 gas are thinking right now.

The only way gas is dropping back under $2 a gallon is if Trump crashes the economy, like last time.

During his last term, the price of oil got so bad, oil companies were trying to give away oil. For free. Free oil.
Oil companies are some of the most greedy companies on the planet, and they were giving away their product. Let that sink in for a minute.

This is like when Hitler shut off all the electricity and running water during the invasion of Germany. Instead of stepping down they will escalated until the bitter end. Burn it all down
This is why they can not have nuclear weapons.

This is why they can not have nuclear weapons.
Yep, Islamists have made it clear time and time ago that they don't mind dying if it is fighting against the infidel, so dying in a retaliatory nuclear strike is fine as long as you strike first because we are all going to heaven for killing the infidel.

So why are we paying $3+ a gallon for gas instead of $1? Why does the price fluctuate so much with international incidents like these?

I know why. Just wondering if you do, since you seem to think US oil production is for US oil consumption and isn't actually just sold on the global market.

Because your guy Biden killed the keystone pipeline

Trump remembers 444 Days of Iran shitting on us after they invaded our sovereign territory and imprisoned our citizens. They never paid retribution.

We can't have Iran with 60% Uranium hidden under a mountain while they develop Hyper Sonic Missiles short, medium, and long range ICBM's. The only countries in the world that have 60% Uranium are the nuclear weapon nations, because you can spin it up to 90% weapons grade quickly. The fuel for nuclear plants is way down at 3%-5%. Hiding and stock piling 60%, then having the IAEA straight up say Iran is lying means their motive is clear. The schedule to go from where they are now were to delivering a nuclear missile on target is brief. After their move on our embassy and imprisonment of our people when I was young makes me not trust them at all. Every night on all 3 networks it was the lead story until Reagan took office.

Also Iran funding all the Middle East proxy wars doesn't make them a fan favorite. The reason why we have so many bases in the Middle East... Iran (and oil). Most of the nations that have our bases want them to protect against... Iran... because of oil.

I don't want boots on the ground. I do want the 70% of Iranians that don't want their current religious zealot government to form a new one.

... but it's also about the oil.

Well noone hates America nearly as much as modern liberal Americans. No one. Trump either broke their minds or set their true colors free
I couldn't imagine saying something that stupid. Y'all are the treasonous dumb fucks and it's pretty sad you can't see or refuse to acknowledge it. If you think liberals are trying to ruin America, then that means you see America as for whites only and only want white Christians living here. Fuck all that. TDS is real and it's with you guys, you suck Trumps dick and obey his every command.

If you think Kamala would have done all this, then it shows how lost the MAGA people are. Yes, the scary brown woman is going to ruin the world

She was in charge of the border and let in and gave travel to 20,000,000 people. Mostly war fighting age men. Many possibly sent from Iran to use if we strike them.
