Indoctrination through public schooling

It truly is. You may not question it.

My whole childhood I fought the religious right. It was easier then though, because a lot of young people did.

But this religion has the young eating outta the palm of their hands. And most adults have way too much to lose, and so they bend the knee in droves. It's a lonely life not believing in this religion, but at the same time not being a Republican. Boo hoo. Someone hold me
I agree.
The religious right was more fuddy duddy and didn't pose such a massive threat to society. This sjw nonsense has gotten kegs and won't stop till there is a massive amount of damage

That's your job though. You're the parent, the school system is not.
Oh, I agree. And I don't like how the school system tries to shove its beliefs down students' throats.

It's just that I don't trust a lot of people to be parents either. I'm sure you can relate when I say that sometimes I look at certain parents and then shake my heads because their kids never had a chance.

I agree. I'm from a very liberal area and they did brainwash us in school.
Going to leftist propaganda websites like SPLC is not teaching civics. Should make the kids read the constitution.

I think the only "political ideology" that needs 'indoctrinating' is the one that the secular republic we occupy was founded on, which would indeed make the US Constitution and Bill of Rights pre-reqs. Ahem, but perhaps with a couple minor tweaks and the latter actually applied across the board.
leftism is a religion. we need to separate church from state.
I hope you are against the indoctrination that went on with prayer in school and the military worship.

Soon these great men (perhaps the greatest!) will be deemed "problematic" and racist.

My 8th grader came to me and showed me an online lesson plan put out by his guidance counselor via proxy by his English teacher. What I saw made my blood boil.

The 'guidance counselor' sent out a call to activism for all the kids from 6th-8th grade. She recommended that each student visit these "activist" sites, which included: tolerance dot org, obama dot org, SPLC dot org, and others, stopping just short of advocating for antifa.

So there she was promoting anti-cop, hate, and victim culture websites to impressionable young kids instead of pushing anything close to education.

I called the woman with the hyphenated last name (another clue as to what I was dealing with), and asked her why she thought it was ok to push a leftist political agenda. She said she thought she was doing the right thing by being there for all these (6-8th grade) kids who are victims of police brutality.

LOL. For fucking real?

I live in a blue-collar suburb in NJ, and fortunately, we don't have those problems here, or anywhere around this area. Not only was she completely full of shit with her reasoning, but she had no answer when I asked her what made her think that is was ok to push her political agenda on these young kids. She later said she thought she was "helping." Cunt.

I got the 'lesson' removed, but wonder how many kids visited those sites before it was gone.

Please watch what your kids are doing. It's OUR job to raise our kids and set them straight, not the fucking liberal school system.

Hahahahahaha, decades and decades of school systems designed to turn people into subservient drones who can't think for themselves and NOW you complain.

Did they teach you to hate America and stuff like that? I think some of them are.

I took a class in CSUN in LA called "chicano studies" which basically just shat on America and how the history we learned was one sided

went to class once and got a A-, but the guy was a real weirdo who did nothing but trash America

Soon these great men (perhaps the greatest!) will be deemed "problematic" and racist.

They're probably lesser giants than the Enlightenment writers and philosophers who inspired them. It should be noted that of the Founding Fathers (John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Washington), Hamilton was openly opposed to the institution and trade of slavery, never owned one in his life. John Adams never owned slaves.

Benjamin Franklin did at one point, but became president of the Pennsylvania Abolition Society and in the last year of his life, petitioned Congress to ban it. Jefferson was a fucking monster tbh, huge intellect and small character. No comment on Madison, he's the Father of the Constitution and author of the Bill of Rights.

In May 1794, in a letter to Tobias Lear, George Washington expressed that he wanted to liberate his slaves, referring to his ownership of people as “repugnantly to his own feelings.” He knew that the values that he had been fighting for as a revolutionary were incompatible with slavery. He also knew that his own legacy would be affected by the position he took on that issue.

Although Washington didn't have control over the freedom of the Custis slaves, he did stipulate in his will, which he wrote in July 1799, how his own slaves should be treated.

“I do hereby expressly forbid the sale, or transportation out of the said Commonwealth, of any slave I may die possessed of, under any pretence whatsoever,” he wrote.

Washington added that he expected the former slaves “shall be comfortably clothed and fed by my heirs while they live.” He further instructed that his younger slaves be provided for until they were 25 and should be taught an occupation and learn how to read.

I agree. Schools are all about socializing, but I think what we are indoctrinating them or socializing them with needs to be confined to what is good for the country. Not what is good for your political party

If a teacher tried that shit on my daughter I would have done the same @cleetus

But I would have also looked to take steps and have that cunt fired.

Children and politics don’t mix.

Kids are indoctrinated through public schools. They learn a white-washed, neutered, Disney-fied version of American history.

They should be learning the truth-- atrocities Columbus committed, the true realities of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, the details of the Trail of Tears and American Indian policy, how the KKK controlled Southern politics for 50+ years reconstruction, stories of individual lynchings, how labor had to fight tooth-and-nail to get any rights, how Woodrow Wilson was a virulent racist, how American eugenicists inspired Hitler, the squashing of the Black Panthers movement and the government's role in the crack epidemic, how corporations bought the Supreme Court through Citizens United, how project Red Map has used computer algorithms to gerrymader the country and suppress the effect of minority voters in impossibly unfair ways, etc.

The theme of every history curriculum should be American history: Light and Dark.

Instead they mostly learn pilgrims and Indians bullshit-- and I'm talking right through high school-- because that's what will sell in textbooks (which are always created to be marketable [aka palatable] to the widest general audience).

And if some teacher is ballsy enough to go off the textbook and tell the kids the truth, their job is at risk for "not teaching the approved curriculum" and pissing off some Tea Party parents (who are probably the loudest and least educated members of the Board of Education).

We should be less worried about telling them what to think today because these beliefs make no sense out of context-- but we should be more worried that they actually are getting the REAL context for the things that are going on today.

Scratching my head for real over the issue with this woman having a hyphenated last name lmao

Like wat

The outrage regarding her hyphenated name mirrors the absurdity of most of the things they complain about. As soon as he started ranting about her name having a hyphen, you should have recognized this wasn't a man dealing with a full deck. The guidance counselor probably got off the phone with this guy, after hearing him ranting incoherently and thought, "What a whacko." Some people set off into the world every day looking to be offended, looking to feel slighted, looking for some battle to fight. This OP fits squarely into that category.

Can anybody explain what is wrong with the websites? Maybe go to the website, and take a screen shot of what you find to be inappropriate for an 8th grade student? Or maybe the rest of the lesson could be shared, to provide context to the links that were provided? Those websites all have plenty of valuable resources.

it's not so bad.

But she had a hyphen in her name. A hyphen. How can this father teach his 14 year old to think exactly like him, when these hyphenated named women are sharing .orgs about tolerance?

NOW, it's right in your face. NOW, the antifa horde and blm terrorists are left to destroy cities and given large parts of cities as safe spaces cordoned off by concrete barriers. NOW, killing cops and physically attacking anyone that isn't a leftist moron is en vogue.

At what point are you supposed to speak up? Or is that only for the terrorists?

If you want indocrination look at shoah education...
The only event in history that you are not allowed to question any part of and for what reason? it offends them because they fear truth.

I'm not looking to take that woman's job, I'm looking at her to use some common sense, and remove her politics from education.

Jesus being a teacher in america must be the shittiest job. When you are not getting beat up by your students or worrying about getting shot dead, you are dealing with Karens like TS all the time. Imagine the Karens.

If you blame your kid's lack of values on school, you're a piece of shit parent.
Yeah no good parent has ever had a drug addict child, a child who falls in with the wrong crowd, a child who commits suicide. Children are people to dumb fuck and they spend most of their life out of your reach. All any parent can do is there best. But it woulda took a second of thought for you to figure tht out.

Where do you think the cultural marxism starts? Youre right, we need to keep a watchful eye on the educators. Scary part is that most have no idea where their ideologies come from or what theyre even saying. Just blind rhetoric, parroted ad-nauseum without any grasp of context. We wont even get into the feminist agenda in school curriculum, undoubtedly aiding in the creation of millions of gender questioning soy boys for years to come.

Whole system is fucked.

Why Systemic Racism Is a Public Health Crisis - Rolling Stonewww.rollingstone.com › culture › culture-news › racism-public-health...
Apparently, racism is now a 'virus' on par with covid. That's right, just as insidious and just as deadly supposedly.
Once cities and states buy into this, watch your taxes go through the roof, overall medical care worsen and racial agendas
and quotas clog the already overburdened system.
awesome.
such progress.
The paragraph about infant mortality in black families and how they spin it to try and make it racist is the craziest shit i have ever read.
