You know George Carlin and his schtick about being only smart enough to work the machines? Yeah, public school is like that.

My kid qualified for a magnet high school (math, science and engineering), ranked 9th in the country. We went to the orientation and I was excited to have him get a huge head start on life.

During the orientation, they started talking about how they were very "progressive", which is a buzzword for liberal nutcases. I ignored that, thinking a higher education at his age is too important to pass up. We went to the library and that's where I fucking turned on the off button for this school. The magazines they had were all liberal bullshit, as what stuck out was that they were ALL either pro-obama, anti-Trump, or anti-America. I kept my mouth shut, but continued on the tour.

When it came down to decision time, I said nothing and allowed my kid to make his decision. HE mentioned how he wouldn't do well because he could tell he'd be fighting with his social studies and english teachers based upon what he saw in their classrooms. Apparently, he saw some woke shit in there he didn't like and said no.

Bottom line, even though MY kid can see through the bullshit, the other 10 thousand fucking morons protesting, I mean rioting and burning shit down while attacking those they don't like - those dumb fucks are ruining the country. If you can't see that, then maybe you need to take a long, hard look at what you want out of life. At some point, you're going to be a victim of the mob.

Maybe the guy who wrote the quote cares, actually. It's just that the post displayed that you were quoting a guy, who, with probably 100% certainty doesn't give a shit.

It's just that the name of the poster and the quote got mixed up.

Would have been an awfully crude post by @MVelsor 's standards, anyway. Had to double-check to see if it was a misquote, which it was.

i applaud your good intentions and it's nice to hear a parent actually parenting, but no offense...this is why i will never have children. even if you raise them right they become outcasts and eventual victims of the mob. there are simply too many stupid people in this world. this is the metaphor of the zombie...hordes of them coming for you...to eat your brains ironically.

i am a professor in academia...and it has been corrupted... academia used to be for the academics...but now the whole herd comes. the masses aren't truly interested in being educated...they see it as some sort of obstacle course to get a sheet of paper (in order to work the machines) under the fantasy that they will make a lot of money.

i do my best to try and wake up the woke...but as Carlin said, education will just get worse and worse...be happy with what little you actually get...the owners of the country aren't interested in an enlightened populace...they just want obedient workers. Every semester I can see that I actually change people's opinions regarding their brainwashings...every semester I see the eyes open. I have been doing this for many years...thousands of students. But, it's meaningless...simply a drop in the bucket compared to the tidal wave of idiocy.
 
Uhm how about you give your point of view to your kid and your kid learns about another point of view from a source other than yourself (school) and let your child make up their own mind afterwards, how ever long is takes to have an educated opinion on certain matters, instead of forcing your point of view onto them and sheltering them from others?

Critical thinking is good, knowledge is power. Sheltering yourself is a sign of mental weakness.

Same can be said about religion. Instead of being brainwashed from birth, how about you use critical thinking and question your beliefs, then come to a conclusion. "I was taught this way so this is the right way" is a dangerous mindset.

I think its very normal and sensible to mold your kids mind with the values and ideasyou believe are important. Thats what creates and maintains culture. Without culture you have nothing.
