The best thing Sherdog and the MMA fans can do is just forget about Dern. She was/is overhyped and nothing special in MMA. It's funny that 4 years ago my friend thought she was so hot and she would be amazing and beat everyone in the UFC, like most people who folllow BJJ thought. Dern simply did not look strong in the fight. Her BJJ might be amazing but it seemed she was easily getting over powered. She currently does not have enough skills to compete. Her striking is sub par, her striking defense is sub-par, and her clinch / wrestling game is sub-par. Hard to use BJJ if you can not get the person down first. If she could at least train take downs then that maybe enough to get by while she improves striking.
