I'm worried for our boy Mike Perry...

We? Be a man and speak for yourself.
So, why are all these pro fighters and boxers saying he's got some skill and potential

Did Jake Paul pay them all to lie?

Damn that's some next level shit brah

Ok I’m bored. You do you. You like him a lot. That’s ok.
I couldn't give a shit about Jake Paul frankly

He could lose 50 times tomorrow and it wouldn't mean a thing to me.

I just like to debate.

And frankly, people like you deserve to be shamed for the level of idiocy you're projecting.

I'm asking questions because I'm genuinely trying to understand how deep this conspiracy goes in your mind.

It's pretty next level.

Responding with "oh you just like him too much" will never not be the biggest cop out and response to being called out.

Let’s drop it. It’s really not worth it. You believe in him. I think he’s a fraud. End of story. Let’s move on.

Oh fuck ya you like to debate. When you’re doing it for yourself it’s just mental masturbation though isn’t it?

You think woodley, Diaz, Perry all just forgot how to fight?

Woodley has good power in his right hand but he is short, known for taking a ton of time off during rounds, and the takedown threat sets up his punches to some degree in MMA. Nate has the chin and volume but he moves like a sloth, lacks killer instinct and fight IQ and was pillow fisted even in 4oz gloves. Perry again, good chin but not a big hitter, dumb as shit and significantly smaller. I am pretty convinced that Jake will fight Nate or Perry in MMA within the next 2 years as well and may well beat them there too. Him and his team are not stupid when it comes to risk management.

I think you're overestimating how good these guys actually are with their hands, and underestimating a decent athlete who is roided up and spends 5+ years training purely boxing with the best coaching money can buy. Not that Jake is a particularly good boxer or anything, but his hands are above average by MMA standards, and his punching power is probably comparable to a fairly heavy handed 185lb'er. Bearing in mind hes usually facing guys that compete at 170.

Interesting points on both sides of the debate here. Feel like Panda is looking into it too deeply; it's not farfetched for these to be rigged in some way; it's also not farfetched that this is just the result of Jake picking past their prime and smaller fighters. I feel like his boxing skill hasn't improved, this looked like shit all around. The "fake" feeling I get from the announcers announcing is probably moreso recognition that they're hyping up something not worth hyping.
Fights get rigged. I never doubted that.

However, the skill is very much real.

He's a better boxer than these guys. Why rig fights against guys you basically cherry picked to beat? If you really wanted to go that route, why not just pay a few mid level broke boxers to dives?

These guys aren't forgetting how to fight. That's what happens when you compete against a better opponent. It makes you hesitant and takes you out of your game. If there's a skill gap, it's very easy to look bad. But that's a matter of fight iq and knowing what's being done strategically and technically to prevent a fighter from fighting their fight. They're picking these guys apart in the gym, dissecting their every tactic and tendency, bringing in sparring partners to replicate what they do on an even higher level than they do.

There's levels between MMA boxing and pure boxing. That's all it comes down to.

I would suggest to analyze the fight more closely a couple times if you didn't notice improvements. Focus specifically on footwork, lateral movement, defensive tactics and strategy

Technique in the jab, both to the body and head, left hook. Versatility of tools and how they're used. Overall fight IQ and traps that were set. Pacing and timing.

He had some sloppy moments, but overall this is the best he's looked.

To anyone who can't see clear improvement, I think there's something wrong / should go back and watch it again.

Doesn't mean he's a world beater

But it was a good performance.

So far this is the best
Because real boxers would beat him. Because recognizable mma names are perfect for bringing more attention to him and more clout. It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement. He gets credit and they get the big money. He’s picking guys who are not concerned about selling out. Taking a dive will not negatively impact their careers. As long as enough people like yourself are bamboozled into believing what they’re seeing. He will continue to arrange these events. I stopped watching after round 1 because I saw what I expected to see. Just like I saw Nate Diaz fighting like himself again against Masvidal with 10x more significant strikes in the first round than total strikes in the entire fight vs Paul.

I believe in very basic boxing analysis

That every single gym in north America would also agree upon

That every fighter who's ever talked about him has also agreed upon.

I think it's much more fraudulent to believe you're on the side of truth here, and the best in the game are not. Does Jake pay them too?

The cognitive dissonance you go through in life must be incredible.

Explain the strikes count for Nate Diaz in Masvidal fight compared to the strikes total in the Paul boxathon.

That’s your argument? That other guys say he’s a good boxer? Like O’Malley? They’re friends. They hang out. It’s a gimmick and his friends are obviously going to support him.

Perry actually came online in rounds 2 and 3

Landed a ton of hard punches. He tried to come after him.

But, he was knocked down several times. Every time he got too reckless, he was punished for it heavily. There was giant gap in skill between the two.

That was apparent to anyone with eyes.

You didn't even watch a fight and you're here analyzing it?

Do you understand the meaning of confirmation bias?

Do you Google man?

you admit fights can be rigged but it’s so hard for you to fathom Jake Paul could be doing that? Because you think he’s really that talented? That’s the part I find crazy. He doesn’t look talented to me at all. The way he moves is just so amateur.

That’s your argument? That other guys say he’s a good boxer? Like O’Malley? They’re friends. They hang out. It’s a gimmick and his friends are obviously going to support him.
Did you just decide to ignore everyone else I listed? You bring up the only guy he's friends with?

How about tyson fury, heavyweight boxing champ. Is that his friend too? How much do you think he paid him

> "I think [Paul is] a decent boxer. A lot of people think he's just a YouTube person who doesn't know how to box but I've actually seen him training and I've actually seen his fights and I think he's decent," Fury told Sky Sports.

>"He's like a novice professional. He's only had six fights so he's exactly as good as he should be at this stage. He's not an Olympic boxer but then again neither am I."

Mike Perry dropped to the ground in the first round. It was laughably unconvincing.

So that’s your argument? “That guy says he’s real so I think he’s real.” Do you understand how naive that sounds? You’re ignoring all the people who’ve stated on the record that his fights are fixed.

Mike Perry sustained more damage in that fight than almost any fight ive seen all year.

Are our eyes lying?

How did you think they faked the punches? Did they rig the cameras too?!
Do you understand what it means to get paid to get punched? Thats what a scripted boxing match is. Thats why ufc vets are perfect for this gimmick. They’re tough as hell and can take punches from boxing gloves if the price is right. You think Mike Perry doesn’t know how to eat punches? He bare knuckle boxes. Tonight was child’s play. He doesn’t give a fuck.
