Media "I'm not done fighting." - Chris Weidman

Lol at your first point, so very true. Teh Chris made that deal at the crossroads and now he's sinking down. I hope the UFC either matches him up with Robocop or another top 10, OR Teh Chris gets a taste of that legendary polish power at 205. Either should seal the deal and force him to back down.
Sadly, as long as he's got two brain cells to communicate with each other they will be saying "I'm far from done fighting".

The sad thing is somebody needs to bring a gun into the cage and use it if they want Teh Chris to retire at the end of that match (or during) and it has to be a kill shot. If it's just a collapsed lung or a facial reconstruction, he will be back in that octagon like the Terminator.

And I'm not going to call for his death because he's likeable. So he will ALWAYS be in the UFC because nothing short of death or at least paraplegia can possibly stop his will power. If you were building a superhero from random qualities from random humans, Teh Chris would be where the will power is taken from. The refusal to back down. The certitude in standing one's ground. This is Teh Chris.

He will be on early prelims on UFC 342 - mark my words. And he'll be super motivated about his next title run as well!

Chris is so predictable I called him saying "he was just rusty and next time is the real comeback" pbp thread

Whatever I'm here for him being KOed again next time. Maybe we see him headlining the early prelims of MSG.

Strange:
Weidman trains real checks against leg kicks, breaks the spider's leg.
Weidman kicks a real check, breaks his own leg.
Weidman allows Tavares to wreck his good leg with unchecked leg kicks, in the first round of the comeback fight.

Maybe 20 times over several years, I have suggested to various people that if you want to see great examples of real checks against leg kicks, watch Weidman-Silva or Hall-Weidman.

I don't understand the Tavares outcome.
If I train to become a check-master, it seems like the first time a Tavares kicked my leg, I would start trying to check them. I mean, we've all seen a nasty leg kicker kick a knee and immediately stop throwing leg-kicks. It's fun to watch.

This goes beyond delusion and into something much more insidious. But if he doesn't care, I don't see why I should. Have him fight Cannonier or Dricus. Let's take this vegetable express to its logical conclusion

It's not that he's unhealthy it's that he sucks
Unfortunately ya

He's a Lil slower but fights the same

Sloppy boxing nothing he does is crisp had a 6 inch reach advantage which meant nothing.

Didn't try to wall.and stall or piece striking with takedowns

Why though? Open a gym. Coach high school wrestling. Start a business. Change careers. So many options...but, like many past-their-prime fighters, he has tunnel vision.

Can’t watch another Weidman fight. I rooted vehemently against him after he beat all the MW guys I liked but eventually started to feel bad for him after getting brutalized so badly in so many fights. Time to hang it up, looking back on his career he was a lot of fun to watch and I don’t wanna see him turn into a vegetable or a paraplegic.

He has no less than 11 more title runs in him for sure, and his confidence only grows with each loss. He is accumulating the world's largest mental database on what not to do to become champ and a broken clock is guaranteed to be right at least more than once in a given day. He won't ever back down. Hard not to respect a man who stands his ground.

His family really needs to sit him down and have this talk with him. He’s going to brush it off from anyone else saying it. They might have a chance to snap through his delusions that he’s at all relevant to the fight game anymore. his mileage is large, and his surgery count is pretty ludicrous.

What a bunch of buzz-kills in here! Let him bang, bro! Guy needed a wheelchair after Tavares chopped on him like a tree, hehe

Tavares is like a guy you pay to be your sparring partner for your title fight. He really let Weidman live that night. Tavares is a good dude.

Just throwing this out there Prime Chris Weidman would have got his ass beaten by prime Chael Sonnen, Dan Henderson, TrtVitor, or Michael Bisping.
