Media "I'm not done fighting." - Chris Weidman

Before the fight he said he's in his prime.

Now he's "rusty" because he lost?

Uh huh.

He also said he was going to throw a full force leg kick first thing in the fight. Didn't do that, either.

Please just stop, Chris. You're not in your prime, you can't throw leg kicks, and you're not going to be champion again. Enjoy what health you have left.

People close to him should be pleading for him to stop. Guy has taken so much punishment and that’s all that lays ahead for him. I know he’s a competitor and I’m sure he genuinely feels like he can still compete, but it’s clear he cannot. He was fortunate his opponent was Tavares, a guy known to not have much killer instinct. Chris would have been badly hurt by the majority of the 185 roster.

Olivi's presence constantly annoys the hell out of me. Felt like she was trying to subtly wrap the interview up a number of times. I highly doubt he'll be ready for the MSG card, but it'd be cool if they could put him on there against an absolute contender series jobber for his sendoff. And if he ends up losing to that guy, just cut him out of mercy.

I know he had some success in spurts against Tavaris.. but you can just tell his body can't react to what his minds telling him to do in there. The writings on the wall.. but the same thing(self belief and confidence) that propelled him to the sports echelon is the same thing that'll have him overstay his welcome... It's happened time and time again in combat sports and in a lot of sports for that matter....With that being said I hope he leaves this sport with all his mental faculties intact. He's a warrior. I can't shit on him for hanging on for too long...I get it

Chris says he's not done fighting. Says the fight was tough and says he was rusty.
Says he wants to continue training and fighting cause he believes in himself. Says he feels the support from fans, friends, and family is giving him strength.

He looks really down and in a lot of pain in this interview.
I really wish he'd step down. He's made good money and no reason to keep fighting when you don't need to.

He can always go back to being the spokesman for The Jewelry Gallary.

Sucker for punishment. He's a fighter through and through.

The saddest part is that he's not been relevant in a decade.

Someone close to him should see him transition to the mic or something else. He cannot see anyway forward beyond mma. Mma has a short shelf life injury free.

I agree brotha, but Chris would have to agree. His competitive drive and past success is blinding him right now in my opinion..

His knee got torn during the fight

Hopefully he means it figuratively as opposed literally.
He can totally be an asset in the gym/corner/etc…

At this point, whatever let him fight and take damage. He clearly should retire but the man has no quit and all heart.

The UFC should take no part in it, unless they're going to use a up and comer to beat him.

Not wise to continue fighting. Is he broke?
The chris's problem is that he married some latina broad who spewed out a whole litter of critters to feed and they all accustomed to a certain life style now.
Mom will walk with the kids so fast that chris's head will spin if he tries to take a job as a gym teacher now. So whatever a gym teacher pays, cut that in half, and yes, he will be broke. So sad what people do because they believe having a family is the path to "love". Path to doom for the chris.
