I'm a little surprised at how unpopular certain guys were at the press conference.

Yeah, fuck the UFC for promoting the best prospect they've ever had. What idiots.

But wouldn't promotion entire telling the fans who he is, what he's done, and highlighting some of his fights? Just sticking him on a card and doing nothing else is pretty lazy.

I think aman literally got boos because he is facing the people’s champion.
Seemed the lesser known fighters were getting boos. Hill was also getting boos because he is facing a beloved fighter.
Perhaps.... although i dont know when that happened becsuse the vast majority thought he was a squid for perceived quitting

Theyve done it in the past, for 300 theyre pushing the title bouts

I'm confused by his credentials too. Looks like he was 28-10 in wrestling, which doesn't look like anything that impressive?

What am I missing here?

I genuinely think Arman scares the shit out of people. The dude is a serious dark horse and a force to be reckoned with. He is going to dishevel the current system.
I think people just love Oliveira. Don't know how many brazillians were in the house but they're usually pretty passionate about their guys and will often boo their opponents. Also Arman isn't a particularly likeable guy.

Aljo was surprised he got some cheers instead of the constant boos lol

He was a 3 time NCAA Division 1 champion going 120-3 over his collegiate career. Some of those pro losses aren't all that bad. Like for instance David Taylor he lost twice to but Taylor was the Gold Medal winner at the 2020 Olympics. He has two losses to J'Den Cox but Cox is a former 2016 Bronze Olympic Medal winner. Bo is a high level wrestler, he's just ran into some really good guys.

I imagine guys like Romero, Cejudo and DC have better credentials. But I don't know enough about the American wrestling scene to judge the NCAA stuff.

College sports achievements don't seem all that impressive to me. It's just college kids against each other?

Bo won a fight by dick strike, acted like it was easy, called out the champs and bragged how shitty they were, and then YET AGAIN, accepted a sub 55 ranked on the planet guy for yet another meaningless fight.

It could definitely be smart for his career and the UFC's hype machine to keep it slow, fight 55, 45, 35, 25, 20, 15, but it's hard to see someone cheat to win vs the 70th ranked guy on the planet and then brag about smashing the champion.

his last fight a lot were still saying hes a quitter

The best 18-22 year old wrestlers in the country competing against each other.

Yeah Romero, Cejudo, and DC have better credentials. At the collegiate level Div 1 wrestling is very competitive even though it's just college aged kids. We don't know how well Bo would have done had he made it to the Olympics and didn't have to beat the eventual Gold Medal winner just to get in. If you think about it, anyone who had to face David Taylor that year and beat him just to get in would have been a hard ask.

For somewhat of a comparison, DC came in 4th in the 2004 Olympics in the 96Kg division while Cael Sanderson competed in the 84Kg division and won Gold. Had Cormier and Cael competed in the same division DC never would have got in. Cael went 6-0 over DC in college.

Low Blow Bo keeps talking like he’s better than everyone, but he won’t fight anyone good, and somehow got a main card slot against another can
