Crime Illegal US Border Crossings On Track For Lowest Levels In Nearly 60 Years

A bipartisan border, most comprehensive border bill in history of mankind was passed. Mitch McConnell fully endorsed it too, so you know it would have actually been effective and not simply legalize mass immigration for his donor class buddies who rely on cheap labor.

lol... you're right of course.

All that bill did was codify the Biden Border Policy and make it permanent. Thank God it didn't pass or we would not have near the progress we already have today.

No it didn't, it helped process people faster.

Trump's idea to put fear in migrants worked wonders, and that works because Trump is seen as irrational. Sending people to Guantanamo, closing CBP app, and making raids go on social media has made people reconsider going to America, at least until the dust settles.

I don't think it will be permanent though, if there is nothing done on the American side to cut down on job offers im guessing smugglers will find new routes and illegals will too.

“It is all trumps fault he tanked a bill that would have legalized 5000 entries a day!! He sabbatage this!!”

Or

“enforce current laws and reimplement Trump’s policies”

It was and is literally that simple. Also that simple to identify who is a fucking retard

Now cut off Medicaid for illegals and the ones here will self-deport. Simple as

Lie, project, deflect the WR Leftist tenets.

It is crazy how they latch on to such obvious key term narrative control to gaslight. A handful of republicans senators does not make it “bipartisan” when the majority or Republican senators opposed and all the house, and clearly were able to point out their problems with it. Sen Lankford needs to be primaried. They thought Trump would never return and could use this as a carrot end of the stick for voters, which failed horribly.

Just like the same key term narrative control with “convicted felon”, “adjudicated rapist”, “peaceful transfer of power”, “fake electors”, the list is endless, these people are idiots lmaooo

Makes sense.

It's a lot more nefarious than that.

I don't know about other countries, but the US and Canada are stuck in a binary mentality and I don't see it getting better.

Indeed. I live in a border state, so the possibility of ever being gaslit on this topic is below zero. My anger about it is incalculable and unquantifiable, I could not be less interested in any sort of cordial discussion or debate at this point -- posting about it prior to January 20th would have resulted in a severe violation of forum rules and an instant ban. I opted for pure black bills instead, with a focus shifted to more pleasant things.

Democrats along with Republicans worked out a bipartisan border bill that was expected to pass before Trump told the GOP to vote it down.

You can say it was an election year stunt but the bill was real and was crafted to pass, not virtue signal, so imo the blame is on those who voted it down.
That's true and I forgot about that, but that goes to my point that they didn't get it done (regardless of who's fault that was), and they needed to take some extra-congressional action (like what we're seeing). They totally misread public perception of this issue, imo.

I was told by the retards on here that Congress needed to pass a pork filled bill in order to stop the record flow of illegals.
It's funny, because at the same they tried to get that "Please vote for us. We're very serious about the border, swearsies" bill passed, they proved that they didn't even need it. They had already stopped the flow with Biden just enforcing the laws and letting border patrol do their jobs.

Of course this was all done as a desperate last ditch effort to make them seem tough on the border at election time, and everyone saw right through it.

I saw that poll also, here is the full article for anyone interested

It is interesting tho because he openly states that there will be pain with prices initially, before leading to what he intends the policies the bring. For instance, inflation was up. Moreover, the optics of these ICE raids and deportations will be bad.

But if he just does it. And he seems to have created a team competent enough to execute, unlike the first term, but it makes the democrats look awful, but immediately singles out the republicans who are uniparty losers.

Just look at Mitch being the only Republican voting against trumps more controversial cabinet picks. He is both physically pathetic, being rolled around in a wheelchair and freeing up, while being politically pathetic and has lost all influence over basically just a year.

The general, populist public hates both sides for the most part, or at least their leaders. Trump needs to just keep running the ball down the field and let democrats and/or uniparty scum make unforced errors, which only help trump drive down field for win after win

And you see the other side just flail with buzzwords and word salad to try and deflect. Losers, BIGLY!

Seeing Mitch's downfall is probably my favorite thing about Trump's presidency.

You can almost hear a pin drop at the border. Border crossings have plummeted to levels not seen in decades this month following President’s Trump’s swift crackdown on illegal immigration across the southwest, The Post can reveal.

So far in February, about 359 illegal migrants per day have been caught across the entire southern border — down more than 90% from February 2024, according to leaked Customs and Border Protection data.

That puts the US on track to have the lowest monthly border crossings in at least 25 years. If the trend continues, the number of illegal migrants coming into the US could hit a level not seen since 1968, nearly 60 years ago.

It’s the lowest the US has seen “in almost a lifetime,” said Mark Krikorian, the executive director at the Center for Immigration Studies.

Certainly but the real question is how will is affect the US economy?

Has inflation kicked up already?

An easy solution that doesn't gets implemented because there are tons of business interests in keeping the status quo.

True on both sides but especially on democrats.

Trump made noise about this, let's see if anything gets done.

The Dems in power fucked up and didn't learn any lesson. The most vocal Dem voters fucked up and didn't learn any lesson.

I despise Trump, but he proved something could be done about the border crisis.

Tom Homan worked for Obama and deported millions. I will give Obama credit for that.

I didn't know Homan worked for Obama. I just know it wasn't a disaster like we've seen the past 4 years.

Biden for 3 years: "There's no problem at the border."
Biden one year before the elections: "There's a problem and we tried to fix it, but the Republicans refused to help us."
