Media Anthony Smith sounds off on Jaxxon podcast - UPDATE: Rampage threatens Smith

Bro that cracked me up for real lol

But did not change my mind lol
Oh I fully support DQ'S. I think you might be hard pressed to find someone more vocal around here as to how they are not 'illegitimate' wins.

I don't care how much of a "better fighter" someone looks when the basic premise is "Who is the better fighter (in this agreed ruleset)." Can't follow the ruleset? Then you're not the better fighter in this moment

Anthony Smith is a cry baby. Everybody knows Rampage talks a lot of shit jokingly. He give it and takes it. That being said he didn't ever make fun of Smith.

Bear got too much into his own head worrying about having Nazi controversy stuff on his podcast. He handled it poorly and Bryce fans jumped all over it.

At the end of the day Bryce is a stupid guy and even he isn't mad about how it all went down. Smith is being a little bitch. He even bitched out in Bisping..

The dude needs to have thicker skin if he's gonna put himself in public

Word, and if there ever were a fighter who deserved one, and would be incensed to insanity by one, it is Jone Jones.

I don't get why anyone is making a big deal out of it honestly. I'm not a big fan of the saying "it is what it is", but it fits here. They had Bryce on after his controversial statements. They had to take a stance against his statements clearly. Yes, it drug on a bit, but it's not like it got much better once they let Bryce talk. We all just saw how ridiculously stupid he is which we already knew. My biggest critique isn't that they lectured him, let him ramble too long, got into too much religious bullshit, etc, but they barely talked about fighting.

Not many hosts are that good honestly. Joe Rogan is supposed to be the king of podcasts, but he rambles like crazy and gets tunnel vision. I listed to one recently where his guest was talking about leaving LA. She was specifically talking about the wildfires and knew those could be a problem. It's like he didn't listen at all and thought she was talking about politics and wokeness. He's done things like this on several episodes, and honestly, he even mocks listeners saying they are on there just bullshitting and people will listen. I think the Jaxxon podcast will be fine.

They have since come out and said they spoke to Bryce about it before and said they wouldn't be talking about that. They thought that would make them look better, but that's the issue and the topic of this thread.

That means they did the whole start bit as a click bait moment to stitch up Bryce. That's what Anthony has an issue with. That's what most people have a problem with. We all know Bryce is stupid, I think it's more calling out a guy for trying to get some clout over him. If they want to call him out go ahead, but let him respond.

I didn't catch the full episode though. I listen pretty regularly, but I was always going to give an episode with Bryce Mitchell a miss. Between him, Rampage and Bear all speaking together, I didn't ever think it was going to be a worthwhile episode.

I noticed Rogan has been on some rants lately.I got halfway through an episode recently and realised his guest had barely even been given the chance to respond.

Jaxon is best when they get out of there own way and let the guests speak. Rogan is the same.
Jaxon's worst episodes are when it basically turns into the Bear and Rampage show. Neither really has the right to call Bryce out on the old moral high ground in my opinion. They say some pretty stupid shit when they go on a tangent.

Sometimes "it was just a joke" is a bully cop out. I mean, it's fine to have banter or say something obviously exaggerated - but when calling a fat guy fat, can't really say it was just a joke.
In the past Rampage has had think skin himself at times - seeming legit upset and calling out people who said anything negative about his performance.

But the last part I agree with 100%.
Smith has read the situation wrong.
Rampage didn't say anything bad about Smith, the opposite - he rates Smith higher than most of us fans ever would, I don't think anyone in MMA views Smith as champ material.

Smith said in an interview to submission radio that they talked about it and are OK now
Also it looks like Smith would fight Varkhitov in his last fight (he said unranked but high profile)

This drama is boring but Anthony is spot on and correct in this instance.

Lol - you definitely are not wrong. It was a total wtf episode. It's even worse if you are not a religious guy. Between the whole Hitler thing and lecturing, it divulges into flat earth which I didn't realize Rampage is a flat earther or at least entertains it. Then it's big into religion where Bear acts like he's an authority on it and Bryce does the same. Rampage is the most rational on it saying it could all just be interpretation.

Overall, I like the podcast. I listen to a lot of podcasts at work. I just listed to the Condit and Forrest one which I liked. With that said, they annoy me at times too, but so does every host. At this point, I can't even watch Rogan. He's obsessive which I've always known, but he makes everything political.

I don’t think Rampage is a completely stable person. It’s only a matter of time before he goes off the deep end.

Rampage, TJ, and Rockhold speak way too highly of themselves and badmouth way too many current fighters
But I guess this is the color of the podcast
It's basically an edgy comedy podcast with the target audience being young men. They make fun of everything and everyone.

Problem is these are retired grown ass men making teenage jokes.

They are both right and wrong. Jaxxon completely messed up with how they handled Bryce,

buuuut... you can't say Bryce should be allowed to state his opinion and the hosts can just disagree, but then say TJ shouldn't give his opinion and while the host disagrees.
This. Fighters realizing this podcasting life is hard. Joe Rogan tells everyone how easy it is to run a succesful podcast but it's not.

When you say "a matter of time before he goes off the deep end," you mean worse than not sleeping for several days and ingesting nothing but energy drinks until he has a "spiritual war" in his head and thinks he hears the voice of God telling him he needs to prevent a friend from committing suicide, so he gets in a monster truck, does multiple hits and runs, and leads the police on a wild chase?

It's called "busting someones balls".

Not to be confused with "busting on his balls" which is what Tito said and Rampage kept ripping him for lol
Nah Rampage is a bully. Great fighter, super entertaining and one of my all time favorites, but he could be a dick sometimes.

Yeah I didn't think the Bryce one would be worth a listen. I was planning to skip it anyway. I will still listen to the podcast, I just think shitting on fighter like that and then removing the episode like they did will cause them issues. They effectively removed it because Bear was copping heat and they looked like idiots for the whole thing. It wasn't to protect Bryce, we all kinda know what we are getting with him. Guests will see that and choose not to go on. My guess is we see other athletes for a while.

I can't listen to Rogan with anyone except fighters now and I am listening for the fighters. I probably listen to 1/20. The guy keeps going on COVID rants and politicalbullshit, when he clearly was able to move to another state and avoid the things he has issue with. That's the whole idea of America. Texas wanted to do things one way and California did it another way, so he moved to the place that aligned with what he wanted. That's the system working for him.

I understand Rampage's reaction.
He had Anthony Smiths's back when TJ was destroying the Lionheart name with the quitter image and everything.
Rampage just wanted a little loyalty and not have Smith add on to a bad situation.
