I'll admit being a big Khamzat a** licker, that fight wasn't entertaining.

No question that was his least entertaining fight I've seen of his in the UFC.

But that's just one fight and it was a very important fight for the belt. So Khamzat played it safe for the most part when he had DDP down on the ground for almost the whole fight.

Although, I think Khamzat will give is a great showing in his next bout. A more entertaining one, with a finish.

Sometimes you can't have always entertaining back and forth or getting a wild dominating finish. Nonetheless, Khamzat is still imo the most entertaining MMA fighter.

We'll see what he does next.

WAR Khamzat!

He earned it and everything but holy shit maybe mid round 4 disengage and standup and give am a bit of a show. Just a little risk at the end. In the spirit of things

Fight would have been more entertaining if DDP tried more.

Khamzat was the only one fighting.

DDP did try I think. lol You can't do much when you are in a crucifix for a long period of time.

Anyways it was a dominant win for Khamzat indeed, just not the most entertaining that's all. No big deal, he'll come back and entertain once again.

Khabib had a performance like that to win the belt from Al Iaquinta.

GSP’s whole career was that.

It was one fight. The most important fight of his career to win the belt, of course he’s gonna play it safe. If Khamzat doesn’t do more submissions or ground and pound in the future then yeah, fair criticism. But let’s see if he evolves first

Yes, that's true. I'm just being honest and critical with this fight. That's all. Like I said I'm a massive Khamzat fan and I knew he'd be champion someday. Just didn't think it would take this long.

Khamzat FTW.

I don't really follow MMA with the regularity I used to and haven't watched much of Chimaev but what I learned yesterday is I won't bother watching him again. That was one of the most boring fights I've ever seen.

He's usually not that boring, he comes with a lot of aggression. He played it smart to get the victory. That's all that matters.

But we all want to be entertained, when it all comes down to it. And that goes with every sport.

It was plenty entertaining if you did your homework. Dricus was in the same position as Whittaker for close to three rounds, and the battle was between his knee-elbow connection on the near side and Khamzat’s hook. The slightest loss of focus and they would have been digging his teeth out of his throat. It was obvious Dricus gambled it all on positional defence, and he said as much himself beforehand, his strategy was fine until the end of round three - survived everything Borz had and came out relatively undamaged. Then it fell apart when Khamzat came out in round four as strong as he started. You could see DDP’s body language changing between rounds from “he’s got nothing else” to “I’ve got nothing else.” He still showed incredible defence. Borz is just quite clearly a different animal with the new cardio regime and it’s not really clear how you’d stop him. It was an F1 or Le Mans race of a fight, they’re not all monster truck rallies.

I mean, to the athlete, sure. Not the fans paying to watch him. There was like maybe 3 significant strikes in the whole 5 rounds and like 2 sub attempts. Worst fight I've seen in quite some time. Borderline lay and pray.

I am the same. Haven't watched much DDP but after last night, fuck that like I'll ever watch this guy fight again. One of the most boring fights I've ever seen and this dude laid on his back for 20 minutes just playing the game of halting the fight.

It looks like you have memory issues. Khabib vs Al Iaquinta was nothing like that, Khabib didn't lay and pray on his opponent for hours. It was an exciting fight with a lot of striking exchanges.

I actually think about fights like Islam vs Volk 1 and you know why that fight wasn't exactly like Khamzat vs Dricus? Because Volk had the skill to not be "laid on" for 20 minutes.

No one said that fight was boring and the difference in those fights is one guy wouldn't let that happen.
