I dont know why in MMA people just want the champ to stick around and defend the belt, maybe its cause how few weight classes there are but in boxing its the opposite champs constantly are asked to move up and challenge themselves.

Okay he might be better than Dustin, Justin and Charles but the weight difference matters.

Look at how Poirier delt with Max at 155. Ilija has power at 145 but 155 is a different beast, Conor found out Max found out Volk found out.

In fact he'd probably beat Arman, and against Islam would win if his TDD is as good as its been. Only guy to take Topuria down is Bryce Mitchell and that is out of 9 attempts that fight, could only control for 1 minute 30 seconds.

Still, we can't really blame these guys. It's a business. They will generally look for the higher profile easier fights they can get.

Everyone knows Charles' chin is not his best asset, to say the least, and he won't try to wrestle for the most part (and if he does, he doesn't have much for guys with great TDD defense).
