On the topic: Ilia would do well vs most of mid level lws but would get obliterated vs the big guys and the top. He'd be super undersized and underpowered to deal with them.

Just rewatched this banger.
Topuria fought a LW on a week or 2 weeks notice and sent him into oblivion. Now i'm not an expert but I think he struggled with Jai's length and size before getting the finish.
He was forced to take more shots in order to return fire and he looked hurt every time Jai was landing.
What happens as he moves up the rankings and fights the elite 155ers?
I'm not even saying 155 is out of the question for him, but if he can still safely make 145, I'd say try to be a contender there first and then move up down the line.

I think Islam/Charles could probably sub him, Arman/Gamrot could probably wrestle him to a decision too. He would have some fun striking matches with any of the strikers in the top 10 though, and definitely has a chance at beating any of them.

i was rooting against Top att and i remember that Herbert did very good in the first round, maybe i don't remember well but he looked sharp and effective.
he did way better than Volk.

he's not a finished product at all, he's learning on the job
he's a much better striker today than he was by that fight
dude went up in weight in short notice, against decent opposition, faced adversity, rallied and knocked him the fuck out
like ur supposed to do
i would favor him against most of LW top10, and i dont even think he reach the peak yet
