If you could TOTALLY REMAKE one game, what would that be?

For the games that I would most want to see remade, I'd want to go with ones that would benefit more from being remade. While Resident Evil 4 is great, I don't think a remake would change it too much. You can buy it on every possible platform anyway.

My top choice would be WWF No Mercy from the N64, which was previously mentioned. Eternal Darkness would also be great.

For one that's more obscure I would probably go with Live-a-Live, which was a Squaresoft RPG on SNES that had a variety of characters and each chapter was its own genre/time (Prehistoric, Feudal Japan, Kung Fu, Western, Sci-Fi, Space).

I would say Golden Eye, but someone is trying for a new one for a 2022 release.
There's Goldeneye source. I think it's just the multiplayer component but it looks pretty good. I believe you can DL it for free.

I'd like to see Twisted Metal 1 & 2 rereleased together with updated/modern era graphics.

Especially 2.

Don't add any new mechanics or story to it, just freshen up them graphics and add an online battle arena type thing.

This needs a remake. So many people haven't played it. This game brought the horror genre to a new level.

A Metroidvania Ninja Gaiden with pixel art. Basically the Messenger except better.

Ninja Gaiden was the absolute pinnacle of fast and precise gameplay to me and it's a shame that they haven't done a 2D sequel since 3. Instead, they went 3D which had nothing to do with the original series and was Ninja Gaiden in name only.

It's a little hard to explain but I would remake Need For Speed: Carbon

The whole point of Carbon was that there was these 3 race gangs vying for each other's territory in this one city: one drove tuners, one drove exotics, and one drove muscle cars.

Around the time this came out, EA was experimenting with a Battletech game which never came out. It featured a 24 hour online battle component similar to For Honor, and it always seemed to me like Carbon was meant to have this component in multiplayer as well.

So I'd remake Need for Speed Carbon with a 24 hour battle for the city component. I'd also add more gangs and go more in depth with the story which was surprisingly good for its day.

Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Ocarina of Time, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, Sega Rally, Powerstone, Diablo 1 and 2, Road Rash. Original Need for Speed. Tourist Trophy. Outrun.

Star Ocean: The Second Story

I’d remaster the fuck out of umk3. Can’t think of a remake.

I'm one of those dorks so starved for Bioware content that picked up and liked Sega's clone, Alpha Protocol. It really needed polish but I loved the variety of endings you could work towards.

After time deliberating, my vote goes to mgs1

I'd love to see Crysis : Warhead come to console some day. Not sure if that would be a remake or a port, but I think it still fits in this thread.

Also, and this is kind of strange, but I'd love to see Skyward Sword remade with the same fighting system utilized in Twilight Princess. In my experience Skyward Sword was frustrating because the motion controls just weren't very accurate. In Twilight Princess it was all button pushes that made Link do all kinds of crazy acrobatics during combat, which in turn allowed you to defeat 3 Dark Nuts at a time. Skyward Sword's movements were really stale and that "Skyward Strike" only worked about 25% of the time for me. The motion controls are one of the reasons why I never gave the game a 2nd playthrough. Also, fighting the same boss umpteen times wasn't fun in Halo 5, and it's also not fun in Skyward Sword.

Skyward Sword was much easier for me in an emulator with the motion stuff mapped. With an actual mote? Not great.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

Xenosaga: Episode I

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

Resident Evil 4

Silent Hill 2

Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)

Halo 2

Shadow Hearts 2

Death Stranding. I'd keep the presentation and graphics and add the fun and excitement.
