If Rousey believes she can beat Floyd, why doesn't she fight Cyborg at 140 catch wt?

I understand why Rousey makes claims about beating Mayweather and Cain.. It's not something her or the UFC can prove. But claiming she can beat Cyborg, then putting all these stipulations just makes her look not so confident.

Cuz Cyriod is a cheater who'll agree to fight at 140 but will weigh in at 148.

What are "all these stipulations?" Only the same stipulation she makes for every other contender, that they fight her at the weight of her title.

It is Cyborg that wants the "out of the ordinary" stipulation for a one-off fight at another weight class that doesn't exist in the UFC. If anyone deserves the benefit of the doubt in a "stipulation," it would be the smaller fighter, Ronda. Ronda's position is the more reasonable, and the only one the UFC will accept anyway. Ronda's position is more reasonable even WITHOUT bringing up the roid issue, which clearly deserves consideration; it isn't like it is just speculation; Cyborg WAS caught juicing.

that's awesome.

more important question: why can white belts make threads still? They're either too ignorant or a shitty troll gimmick.

Asking Cyborg to make her weight division (135) is an unusual stipulation? That's the whole point of weight divisions.

In terms of the general question, I'd bet that Rousey would say that Cyborg (and any other elite WMMA fighter) would also beat Mayweather in MMA; the argument is that grappling beats pure striking, and any elite WMMA fighter has grappling.

The argument is about styles (judo/submission grappling vs boxing), not about Rousey vs Mayweather athletically. No one (not even Rousey's mom) thinks that Rousey is Mayweather's match athletically, they just think judo/grappling trumps boxing. Cyborg beats Mayweather too under that theory.

Ronda dropped to 135 before Cyborg failed test...Also, she never failed a test prior, and has fought 4 times since that incident and has passed every time...

If anyone worked out and trained as much as Cyborg, they wouldd be jacked too...Ronda probably walks around at 155 But she has a lot of fat and water weight, so she easily cuts the weight for her fights. Ever look at how sucked in her face and body is at weigh ins vs weeks before...

Come fight night, Ronda probably weighs like 145 or so. Cyborg is so lean, she has zero weight to cut...

I think it's pretty clear Ronda is ducking.

Says she can beat Floyd and Cain, but refuses Cyborg or Fallon Fox

So Cyborg is bigger than Rousey. Which means to make a fair fight, either Cyborg has to lose 10 pounds of lean mass, or Rousey has to gain 10 pounds of lean mass. Why would either change their lean mass by ten pounds just to help out the other? They're not sisters, neither saved the other's life or family - they owe each other nothing. And probably don't even like each other.

So why would Rousey spend a year gaining 10 pounds of muscle to fight Cyborg at even weight, or why would Cyborg spend a year losing 10 pounds of muscle to fight Rousey at 135?

Right now the only incentive is money, and Rousey is making more than Cyborg, so Rousey has no need to change weight. And Cyborg, for all her talk, doesn't really seem interested in changing weight either.

People seem to think its easy to gain or lose 10 pounds of muscle; true when you're just starting out, not so true when you're an elite athlete.

Why does ronda talk about cyborg every chance she gets then ?

Is she supposed to not answer questions? And building the potential fight, in case Cyborg ever does make the weight, is not a bad idea. Not sure what is so hard to understand about that.

This has been going on for years. I'm so sick of hearing about them. And the Floyd stuff is even worse.

It certainly is a lot easier to lose 10 lbs of muscle (given that there is muscle to lose), than to gain it. Especially for women.

Because Ronda and the UFC are full of s**t. Ronda stand up is horrible, she gets smashed by Cyborg all day. Thats why

You're gonna get flamed TS

But you're still right :)
It's the only Ronda fight DFW could get in my wallet for. If there weren't so many shills and PC Dudley Dorights out there they'd feel the same. Not taking anything away from Ronda but sick and tired of watchin her destroy these soccer moms and CPAs, and then getting so much credit for it. She is a can crusher plain and simple.

Because she doesn't believe a word she says TS.She only does it to create some buzz.
She's the type of person who folds quickly and isn't confident. Those kind of people give up as soon as they know they can't reach the very top.Just like she gave up Judo to do something easier. If she believed in herself she'd have stayed there until she got the gold medal, but she quit.

She thinks she has no chance against Cyborg, that's why she went down on weight and that's why she won't fight her above 135 where she knows cyborg would be a mess.If she really thought she was a badass she'd have begged for the fight a long time ago and would make sure to beat the sh** out of Cyborg at 145 to sh** her up.

Jesus you Cyborg apologists don't have one clue between you.

Ronda signed to fight your hero in SF. Your hero failed a fight night drug tes t(which is like failing a fucking iq test...) and was suspended. Ronda moved to 135 as that was a MUCH deeper and more competitive division.

There's revisionist history, and then there's just blatant lying. She never signed to fight her; she announced she was moving down straight after her second fight with Strikeforce.

that's awesome.

you know you can just ignore their threads, right

Nothing you said has anything to do with what I wrote.
Regardless of whether Cyborg can or can't, tries or doesn't try, Ronda does not WANT to fight her.

Yet she was willing to fight her at least 3 times, one of those times being at 145 lbs, back in 2012, the 2nd time at 135 lbs when she came back from her suspension weighing 160 lbs and could have made the weight easily and for the last 2 years has offered an open invitation for Cyborg to drop a measly 10 lbs and fight.

Ronda and the UFC have gone out of their way to accommodate her over the years and Cyborg has done nothing to take advantage of the opportunities presented to her.
