tennis and boxing are not "accessible" to most kids growing up. there is generally a high cost of entry in tennis.
Really? In what way? Seems to me that you need a racket, some tennis balls, and a court to get it going. The fact that Venus and Serena came from a lower middle class family in Compton makes me think that it's more a lack of interest in tennis that keeps people away as opposed to any significant entry-level financial cost. The elite training you require as you progress is true of damn near every sport.
Now hockey, on the other hand.... THAT has a high cost of entry!
