If Manny beats Floyd

Bradley made JMM look like shit and won Easy. What the hell is gonna now.

Do people Hate Bradly that much. He gave himself Brain Damage for yall and yall still hate him cause he beat Pac. Dam

All right then, if the Pac fans still can't forgive Bradley for beating their hero, then the other Marquez crusher has to be in the running. This guy didn't fight Pac so I can't see why there would be any objections.

If Pac beats Floyd, then John is an ATG.

That belt looks photoshopped into the pic now that I see it embiggened.

if manny beats floyd it would make Juan Manuel Marquez the greatest of all time

Would that in turn make bradley even greater for having beaten Marquez? Styles make fights, I don't think such an assertion is realistic.

If Manny beats Floyd check the sky to see if Christ has returned.

The only guy who's come close to beating him was a top 20 all time fighter and he beat him.

I can't stand Mayweather but he's the best boxer I've ever seen. P4P the greatest.

Chris John is my boy, don't be talking shit.

Just to make this semi-ridiculous thread a little more interesting, I see FW John beating FW Pac (note, FW Pac was not as diverse as later Pac, though he had better punching power relative to division)

Hehe tribalism is alive and well, nonpartisan comment - not so much:P

Because of the passion of the factions it would not manifest itself as general consensus for years but if Manny were to beat Floyd, in a couple decades he would be ranked top ten all time for sure, top 5 most likely.

I actually agree. Not that I believe pacman will win but if he does, then yeah.

As much as I'd like to belong to an incredibly important era, neither Pac nor Mayweather will be the greatest of all time. That's mostly down to Ray Robinson, Harry Greb, Sam Langford, and Henry Armstrong. Those are the candidates and nobody else can really draw in (Ezzard Charles on a good day has a real gripe).

Manny is already an ATG. I think it will be a competitive 12 round fight. If he beats Floyd he simply rises up the ATG list. If Floyd beats Manny he would rise up the ATG list too.

As astonishing a career as Manny and Mayweather have had, I don't think either of them will retire as the #1 greatest of all time. Too many have come before them and blazed a greater trail. Think about guys like Ali, Robinson, and Louis. These guys were international super stars. They were house hold names. Their accomplishments endless.

Is he the greatest of all time?

If Floyd beats Manny, as great as he is, he beat someone smaller, shorter, who lost before, knocked out cold a few fights ago, and etc, though I believe it is a huge feather on anyone's cap, whether they are undefeated or not, but I feel that some people could bring up something like that and maybe doesn't give Floyd as much credit as he may otherwise deserve.

However, if Manny does pull it off, he would become for the very first time history a linear champion in five different weight division and beating the guy who has never lost before who is naturally bigger and taller.

No.

He would move up but he would not be the greatest.

He couldnt even really beat Juan 4 times

been sharing some of Wandy's steroids have we? Chill out, I was just making a point. Do I need to spell out for you what I actually meant?

Dont take it personally. He literally wants to be with pac. He loves him.

If you say anything negative about him you will face his wrath

lol floyd could lose this fight and still be the greatest of an era manny will never be in serious goat talks top 5 for sure the actual goat not even close he has lost to decisively to ever be the greatest imho. you cant get koed by a guy youve already beaten twice and still be the greatest it just doesnt work that way.

Even if floyd lost he would still be the greatest of all time. As long as he has been doing and as great as hes been it wont matter what happens with pac.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I feel like there's way too much nostalgia and sentimentality when it comes to boxing. I'm not a boxing historian, so admittedly I realize I'm speaking a little out of ignorance here, but its way too hard for me to accept that guys that were literally born in the 1800's, like Langford and Greb, are going to be ranked higher than modern era athletes like Pac and Floyd. That's not to say that those guys weren't great in their own rights, but it feels like its the equivalent of ranking Bob Cousy ahead of Allen Iverson (which they do) and that's absurd.

As far as Greb, Langford, and Armstrong are concerned, I could name atleast several fighters not named Pac or Mayweather that I'd rank higher than those three fighters. The only exception to your list, would be Robinson, but we're talking about a very special and extraordinary once in a lifetime type athlete in regards to him. Again, no disrespect to the aforementioned greats of the past, but am I missing something to all this?

For the moment, that's all that needs to be said.

If Manny beats Floyd it will be a testament to Floyd's greatness.

It would move him above floyd on the goat standings but theres way more people above him .
