So by my count we've seen the "crane technique" used exactly twice in the UFC, and both times it has resulted in a finish.
Whodathunkit?
Whodathunkit?

Anderson was more of a front kick to the face. I think he's referring to Machida vs. Randy that was a crane kick.We have seen it been used a lot more than that. After Anderson vs Vitor there was an event in which fighters were just spamming that shit like crazy, mostly hitting air.
Still, I think it can be very effective if fighters train not to telegraph.

Anderson's kick on Vitor was just a standing front 'teep' kick to the face. It wasn't the crane technique.

Stun Gun Kim hit one on Sean Pierson if I recall correctly
That was not a teep kick. That was just a regular front kick.
Sean didn't do right, so Rashad could defense.
