If Costa runs through Chimaev, what does that mean for the Chimaev future?

He will be fine. I hope he will fight more often when he is not a contender. Costa versus cannonier? Roman? Kevin Holland at catchweight?

I don't see either of them running through each other. Costa is too big for Khamzat to rag doll and have his way with like the most of the guys at 170. It will come down to whoever is more durable but I think Costa takes it. I know... I know.. hot take but Khamzat is very hittable and got put on skates by Burns that doesn't hit as hard as Costa. If he can connect the right shots I think Khamzat goes lights out. I also don't think Khamzat can KO Costa as Costa's chin is right up there with Vettori.

it will probably be over.

the guy barely fights nowawdays and the mystique of being an undefeated monster will wear off.

The guy barely fights is Costa just as well as Chimaev.

Luckily for Costa, he hasn't been burdened with the pressure of keeping an undefeated streak in years. Losing MMA fights and his battle against baldness.

(edit for grammar)

Seems like a lot of the hype surrounding him has cooled off since he doesn't fight often, so losing to another guy whose hype has died down drastically probably won't do anything for his bargaining power, might just retire and do whatever he has been doing outside of the UFC to make money, since it must be lucrative.
