If Charles can beat Islam and Gaethe (no easy task) he has done more than Khabib ever did

If Charles can beat Islam he should change his nickname to Charles "Martel" Oliveira

Anderson had some losses too, if you don't have a dad or a coach from the start who perfectly builds you up it's gonna be next to impossible to have zero losses.

I hate when people say this because it encourages the mentality people have in Boxing where they don't take any risks.
And I hate when people ignore the fact that khabib couldn’t buy a fight with a ranked opponent to save his life. He wasn’t “constructed”. He was ducked for a long time. Even Dana would talk about how hard it was to get anyone to take him on in when they pitched fights to the other 55ers. People forget that MMA is small world among fighters. He was a terribly kept secret. It wasn’t just his coach who knew he was destined for huge things

for context khabib fought a 0-0 fighter in his 14th fight and oliveira faced the TUF winner for his 14th
It's just simply way harder to become an elite fighter when you're from a poor background with no support.

Khabib had a Dad who was probably a genius when it comes to MMA and seemed to have made good enough money to support Khabib from day one, most of these guys have to work full time jobs until they're several fights into their UFC careers. Khabib was still amazing, but the no losses thing doesn't mean much to me, great fighters are great because of their wins, not their lack of losses. That mentality is so bad for the sport.

I wouldn't count Justin out against Oliveira. He could still catch him.

And I most definitely wouldn't count out Oliveira against Islam either. Hands down the best fighter Khabib would have ever fought, and he didn't, and that Islam have ever fought.

Do you think Defense is a thing that just happens?

Like those "he was winning until he wasn't..." WTF do you think happened to make that saying a meme? Defense is 50% of the game; on the ground you could argue it's 60-70% of the game.

And again, for the trolling-impaired "UFC Career." HAHAHAH. Charles has gotten wrecked in 2 of his last 5 rounds. Dropped multiple times, nearly mounted, on his back, scrambling, panic wrestling. That's in his last 5 rounds.

Khabib's decade long UFC career didn't see any of that. That is AN ACCOMPLISHMENT. I can't believe I'm now replying for the third time in a thread my kids wouldn't even use as toilet paper.

Such ignorance. Such bliss.

Youre just talking about him never losing or never taking damage.

i can win fights and take no damage if I beat up 15 bums.

Khabib fought about 4-5 great people in his whole life

That's true to an extent, but it's the same thing that happened with Islam, he had the luxury of fighting when he wanted to against the right opponents, both had times where they took significant amounts of time off that most fighters can't afford to have, so eventually they get to a point where everyone knows they're one of the best in the world, but they don't have the rankings they should because they aren't active, so nobody wants to fight them. It's not because everyone is ducking them because they're scared.

People underestimate how well Justin did against Khabib because Khabib has a damn good poker face, those leg kicks were taking a toll, and if Gaethje could hang on the ground at all it would've been an interesting fight.

BJ Penn is the GOAT 155. I think Charles has a chance at passing him with a couple more big wins

Khabib was a good fighter but he was only at the top of the mountain for like a year and a half

Yea you are missing the point. Dana has literally said he couldn’t get khabib a fight for several periods of time. Injuries aside, no one was signing up to fight them. It’s not a “ducking” thing, it’s a casual head shake “no” when Dana would pitch the fight. They have always been in that awkward stage
Of being ranked too low but everyone knowing they were killers. Saying it’s from their time off and manufactured schedule is just plain wrong. Many years before he had a title shot, the whole mma community knew that khabib was a total freak. I know several ufc fighters personally and I would ask them about khabib, and they would laugh and just say how other worldly he was

Oh now it’s called a poker face? Interesting spin on a good chin or unphased. Now it’s a poker face huh. Pretty sure khabib didn’t limp and was completely fine post fight. But sure, poker face

I thought it was hilarious how bad Justin looked on the ground too tho lmao.

That was sad.

Khabib is more dominant but his first 15 fights were notoriously weak.

If they have the same top wins, then its pretty similar because even though Oliveira has losses, his first fights were a lot stronger.
here comes the bs, Oliveira lost to Felder in his 29th fight it has nothing to do with "tough early fights" back in 2017, when Khabib mobbed the floor with Barboza securing a title shot in his 25th fight

That's why I said it's true to an extent, but obviously, the lack of activity is a huge part of the reason they were lower in the rankings and people ducked them. If you deny that you're just being delusional, the top fighters in the world aren't ducking people because they're scared, it's business.

I mean the guy was 28 then which is still pretty young for MMA and Felder was in his prime.

I didn't mean that as a negative lol, Khabib fans are so defensive man, I'm just saying Justin did better than people realize
