Curious.

If a Boxer had 3 fights in a row -- fight 1 was a 850K buy, fight 2 a 1.2 mil buy and fight 3 a 1.5 mil buy . How much is that Boxer going to make for his next fight headlining an event?
Just trying to judge if Conor would have a legit beef or not as to what he is being paid. Lots of stories on how much he would have made for 200 - but I am pretty sure for his last 3 fights he hasn't made 15 mil total at least in purse money.

All depends on how much they have per buy, when the points kick in and how much their guarantee is.

2 totally different worlds when it comes down to it though.

A boxing match is usually maybe 70 compared to 60 for UFC so the difference isn't that drastic in cost.

So Conor is getting Buy rates better than anyone in Boxing not named Floyd but since it's UFC he doesn't deserve close to Floyd money?

No its not that simple man....

holy crap shit fuck GODDAMN!!

a lot. Period. He'd be a massive star and making tons of money and have every opportunity in the sport and media. As well as several high profile sponsorships. Nike commercial and all that. Not a game of war commercial.

Im not a Connor fan, I dont even like the guy never did. But he's not unreasonable in what he's asking. He knows his drawing power and isnt trying to make the UFC richer while risking his life for some shitty 1mil base pay. Dude is self aware and putting his well being on the line not Dana white.

Sure the UFC solely takes the hit for all the promotional costs as opposed to various boxing promoters and companies doing it all on their end but still. The similarities aren't to far apart to warrant him not getting paid well. He can go fight a boxing match vs some washed up bum under TMT and still make twice what he's getting paid right now lol

FUCK YOU PAY ME.

Conor hasn't even held an event by himself - he is only on stacked PPVs. If conor was literally the only person with drawing power on a card, he wouldn't get the numbers he does.

Pacquiao could be used as an example if you want. Had PPV sales of 800k, 1.25 million and 1.2 million. For his next big event that was expected to exceed the million buy mark he was guaranteed $15 million versus Margarito, plus an additional $5 million with his cut of the PPV and then an additional seven figures with sponsorship.

196 was stacked huh. ok

with star power? it had miesha tate and holly holm (who had a shit ton of media attention because she killed rousey) in a title fight as the co main, and a diaz brother as an opponent.

For media attention, that's a lot.

show me a PPV where conor had no help with buys and he carried the whole thing himself

ok then by that logic shouldn't Conor be getting 15 mil a fight being that he is already outselling any Pac fight (other than Floyd or maybe Oscar) in terms of PPV buy rate at least.

It also depend on what kind of site fee is paid by the host Hotel & Casino. Boxing tends to bring in a lot more high rollers and the hotels pay millions in site fees which MMA doesn't get. Apples and Oranges.

Don't the MGM pay the UFC or lower the cost to host more events there than anywhere else? Not sure if true but I've heard it more than once.

$20 million using that example.

I would imagine that the UFC has a pretty sweet deal with the MGM considering how often those two companies do business. Like the other guy stated, it's not likely to be as good a deal as some of the bigger boxing events get. But there is a reason that the UFC is constantly hosting shows there and I would doubt it's simply due to a matter of convenience.

Put Lawler - Condit on that 196 card in place of Conor Diaz -- you think that PPV draws even 600K or fuck even 500K ? Conor is worth 1 million buys himself fighting a journeyman in Nate - granted Nate is a fun fighter but never a true title contender.

put conor vs a nobody at ufc 190 and he doesn't reach ronda/bethe numbers.

Conor is a draw, but he isn't drawing like boxers who literally carry an entire card with just a main event and a bunch of random people no one cares about

that boxer would get guaranteed in 8 figures easy with that kind of star power.

pacman got 20 mil guaranteed for yrs even with some of his ppv sales were just around 400~500k buys(i.e recent fight with Bradley)

boxing, stars take the lionshare of revenue. ufc, the promoter takes lionshare.
