Sorry but random posters will not decide what makes financial sense for major studios.

Studios will make that call and they will experiment particularly with older properties as they often see a shelf life to rebooting the same franchise in the exact same way time and again and just hoping the audience shows up.

Not every experiment will work. Its not like they cannot go back and do it again the old way if the experiment fails. But i entirely understand why the studio's would try and why we are seeing movies like Ocean's 8 instead of a 3rd remake of Ocean's 11 whether it works or not. It's not an SJW thing, its a test to see if the market is there so they can exploit it with a bunch more movies.

They've never done a black super spy before, I could see that bringing in a new fanbase, and not just black people.
