For me the main reason for Bond being white is that Bond is all about being an old-school British gentleman. He was written more than half a century ago, and many a time he was a spy in Eastern Europe and/or Russia.

I am very sorry if this hurts someone's feelings, but you can't be black and be a spy in Russia at the same time.

Yes, original Bond was a tad racist, a tad stereotypical. The character is a product of the age he was created in, and the social norms of that time.
I don't want for Hollywood to change iconic characters. First we change the ethnicity of the guy who was white for 25 films and as many books, what next? Add kind-hearted tolerant multi-cultural Orks to LOTR?
Elba is a great guy, cast him as 008 if you want him so damn bad in James Bond franchise, or, better yet, start a new franchise.

Yet again, there are no Danish Indians and were none at the time of the film, there are however black British spys and gentlemen. It's believable.

It would be like a modern sherlock Homes being reinvented as a black character, which wouldn't be the worse thing. What would matter more would be whether it was any good rather than any racial politics.

Still, at the end if the day you feel how you do. Neither of us will convince the other, I guess I just don't think it matters a lot.

Bond is tied to modern day unless they are telling a period piece Bond Story. And the chances of a MI6 agent in modern day being ethnic are extremely high and therefore Bond can certainly be of colour.

none of your examples make any sense.

if they are filming a Bond film today based on TODAYS MI6, there is nothing wrong with them using an ethnic agent as ethnic agents do exist today in MI6. the skin colour of said agent matters no more than the hair colour did when people bitched about a blonde bond, named Daniel Craig.

There is literally nothing about him that suggests he wouldn't make a great Bond except for his skin color. To call it "PC" or act like he would only get the role because of his race is fucking stupid. He could pull the character off with EASE and that should be clear to anyone who has actually watched him.
