I don't see why they don't make him another MI6 agent, separate from Bond, and then if it takes off they can do some buddy cop drama thing down the line. White guys and black guys spying together, mass hysteria

This is probably the best idea.
Introduce him in the next Bond and then do a spinoff with a Black Bond essentially.

Arguments of “that’s not what I think of when I think of Bond” or “this is just them being PC” or whatever don’t hold water imo. The current run with Bond builds him up as an Oxford or Cambridge boy that never fit in. Sure, he liked some of the swag but it was never him. He was out of place.
A black Bond fits a similar narrative just fine.

Question of effectiveness of a black man going to predominantly white places to fit in? That’s a legit question. Suspending that kind of belief is tough for me if only because it’s an obvious reality that they wouldn’t address in the film.

I wondered about Cavill for awhile, but after Superman and the like, I don’t think he can bring the dramatic weight. Tom H could, but they seem to like the idea of a larger, bulkier dude. Something about his presence doesn’t sell me. Craig is a good rendition of Bond...perhaps he’s chiseled into my imagination what Bond is.

Most of the world has no idea what a SJW is, and I don't think anyone is trying to please them.
I think people see someone they think would make an interesting Bond and that is different.
 
Stunt casting doesn't fall into the realm of SJW. This isn't for the sake of diversity, and Bond's race doesn't really bother anyone as much as does his perceived regard for women,which is being tackled by Danny Boyle so you can sharpen your swords there.
 
Idris is too old. I would have gone with Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Heahmund from Vikings, but he is too old not too.

They probably going to find an unknown young brit to do it.
 
I think he'd be a great Bond, but he's 46 next month. When Craig is done next year, that means it could be 2022 when the first Elba Bond comes out, and he'll be 50.
