If James Bond’s character involved him attending klan rallies, or any other exclusively white activities, then you would have a point. But his character’s skin color is not a defining characteristic of the role. He is a British spy. That’s it. James Bond is a British spy, there are black British spies/special forces. There are not white leaders of the Zulu tribe Y'all are some retards, lmao. It doesn't matter what his race is, Elba is a total badass, and can also play the classy roll very well.

And as for complaining about his age. Craig is 5 years older, did a movie just 2-3 years ago, and is in pre-production for another movie. Not to mention Elba had a kick boxing fight just a year or 2 ago, looked great, and won easily. He would beat the shit out of Daniel Craig. It isn't even an argument here, just like his race. Forgetting that he is black....Idris doesn’t look the part. First off he is 46 but looks 56. He has rough features, not classically handsome. He is also heavy looking. The source material based Bond on Hogan Carmichael, an American singer. Narrow face, long skinny nose and dark hair. Think Pierce Brosnan and Timothy Dalton. I am a huge fan of Idris and am watching Luther now. He just isn’t James Bond. Take the snowflake crap out of it...no one looks at the guy and thinks James Bond. Plenty of white actors that would be a poor choice as well. I don’t think Superman would be a great choice either...In Mission Impossible he looked HUGE.

Shaka Zulu and T'Challa are African kings. You can not be a white king of the Zulus or Wakandans. That is impossible. Those character's identities are tied to their race and culture. Wakanda and Zulu land are not multicultural spaces with white people

Britain in 2018 is not a country of pure white people. You dont have to be white to be British today. If the movie was set in 1956, this would be a different conversation.
The core story of 007 is he is a suave, British spy that works for MI6. His race is not a part of his character, only his nationality. Any suave, British national could be Bond. You could have put Idris into any of the Pierce Bronson or Daniel Craig movies (besides the last one where he's looking for his Irish dad or something obviously) and the story wouldn't of changed a bit

If you dumb dumbs wanted to make a comparison that made sense, you could have said "wull, how about changing Blade or Falcon to a white guy?" Their race isn't apart of their characters. (At least In the movies it hasn't been) You could make them white, asian, or Mexican, and the story and core of the character wouldn't of changed one bit.
You could NOT do that with Luke Cage because being black IS part of his character.

The thing is, I never complained about Hollywood taking a black actor or not to play Bond but you keep insisting that I did.

I have clearly stated that I would watch the movie regardless because I don't give a shit. Some said they wouldn't encourage it by not watching the movie which wasn't me. Yet you keep saying "you guys".

The only thing that I said is that casting a black actor for Bond is not the ideal choice in my opinion, because the bond character is white. Simple as that. I will still enjoy the movie as much. The same goes for a white actor playing a black character. But if my opinion upsets you and you wanna cry about white washing, than so be it.

I didn’t like Craig at all. I voiced my displeasure for sure. He was blonde with blue eyes...he looked more German Villain than Bond to me. He ended up doing well. I’m not apologizing for my opinion, and I’m open to admit when I have been wrong. I didn’t like Gal Gator as Wonder Woman and I was wrong there. I’m also not apologizing for thinking Bond should e a white Guy with dark hair and chiseled features. That’s how he was fucking written. The world would freak if they made Superman black, why is Bond Different. The author based the character on himself and others he knew.....none of them looked like Idris.

People don't seem to remember the outrage there was when they first announced that Daniel Craig would be playing James Bond. A lot of people complained about the fact that he was Blonde and that he didn't really have the "face" to play James Bond.

Now they want to possibly change James Bond's ethnicity. Of course people are going to complain. But guys like @MikeMcMann and a few others in this thread are all offended and calling others racists because of it.

What's next, a female Bond?

The point is, it doesn't matter if Hollywood has done it in the past. It doesn't make it right. If they are going to steer further and further away from the original James Bond character as it was intended to be, might as well name the main character something else and start a new franchise.
