Idaho Murders

I’d be in shocked too if that shit happened to me. It’s really hard to comprehend that someone is killing your roommates. That’s so out of the norm. she was sleeping right?

It's a bit puzzling though. Before the affadavit, many were speculating the other roommates didn't hear anything because they were asleep which kind of makes sense. But, at least one of them was not asleep. And, there were defensive wounds, so there must mave been a bit of a struggle and they believe he was committing the murders for something like 15 minutes. How did the roommate who was up not hear anything? I believe it even says in the affadavit that the neighboring house's camera picked up noises from the house.

It's really weird.

Maybe a bit weird.. what's stranger to me is that the dog was left alone in a room where the "owner" was killed.

The roommate who “froze” will live with regret her entire life for not screaming or calling the cops.

How in the hell does a criminology major think it's a good idea to take his cel phone with him to a murder? LOL what a moron.

That's so stupid that it's suspicious... it would be pretty easy for the state to conure fake cel-phone records.
I have my degree in Crim. We're idiots. This case doesn't surprise me. One thing I learned in my Crim studies - criminals are attracted to careers that feed their criminal interests; Psychopaths (the killing ones) lean towards something like the military,:eek::eek::eek:philes go into teaching, white collar criminals go work on Wall Street, etc etc. Trust me, profilers aren't shocked by this. Remember, Bundy studied Law, Ed Kemper went out of his way to hang around cops to gain intel, BTK worked in security and compliance fields, etc.

I remember hearing about a former Crim student in my program that ended up murdering his family with his brother. Later the police found his text books and discovered a copy of his Hare Test (Psychopathy Test), and his score was in the 30's (it's out of 40, anything over 30 is scary, for reference sake most people are in the lower end, mine was 9?). As Crim students we were given the Hare Test and did them ourselves, just for shits and giggles, we weren't required to do them or hand them in. If someone with knowledge would have seen his in advance, it would have been a huge red flag, and maybe even resulted in some sort of action.

RE: State making up cell phone records. I'm surprised you didn't suggest the DNA was planted, as well. Yeah, I enjoyed Making a Murderer too, but this isn't that. A psychopaths worst enemy is themselves. At some point their desires cloud their judgments, they get more comfortable (ego blows up), and they take more risks, risks equal mistakes, mistakes equal caught. If you've studied them, you've seen countless examples of this. I haven't followed this case very closely, but it wouldn't surprise if he revisited the crime scene, the graves of the victims and/or has personal items from the victims. They love to relive that shit.

The roommate not doing anything even though she’s in “frozen shock phase” doesn’t seem strange to me at all. 90% of people have terrible situational awareness 100% of the time. This poor kid should be cut tons of slack in my opinion.

She’s under the influence and she’s trying to sleep it off.
It’s a party house. Who knows how many people have been in and out on the weekends there?
She’s been awakened 3 times.
Person is on their way out..

She feels weird but locks her door and sleeps it off until she metabolizes enough to get up see what’s gonna happen today.

I think y'all are making too many assumptions about the roommate. She saw a guy leave from what is essentially a dorm room. Doesn't exactly scream "murderer". It's just a random guy someone might've had over, for all they know. They're not like a family unit or anything. They're just college kids sharing a house with each other. They all have their own lives, and it's not all that foreign to see people you don't know in a place you're sharing roommates.

Agree with both of you on this except he was wearing a mask. Now I don’t know what kind of mask he’s wearing but I know damn well ain’t nobody coming thru or been thru that house was wearing a mask. Not even a covid mask… especially in late 2022. At a college party house. In the early hours of the morning. You see someone like that and yeah you’d freeze cause they look sketch AF.

Is there any evidence she knew something was wrong? Maybe she thought it was just a friend of one them leaving early?

Alternatively, Mr Shit-Bag's first words after being charged were apparently,

"Have you arrested anyone else yet?"

So, maybe he didn't work entirely alone...

In the PCA it says that she was so scared that she kind of froze - so yes, she knew something was terribly wrong

This is a normal reaction i guess.
But it is not normal to go to sleep and remain in fucking shock for like 8 hours

This is super bizzare

I could be wrong so feel free to correct me. I read online that this comment about arresting "anyone else yet" has NOT be confirmed by anyone from law enforcement.. so like him being a super smart guy it maybe total supposition.

"D.M. stated she opened her door for the third time after she heard the crying and saw a figure clad in black clothing"

To open the door 3 times she must of heard some commotion every time, I get locking yourself in your room and being shit scared but to not call someone from your cell phone is odd. Even if she tried calling all her roommates to see if they were alright.

It appears that the police did a very good job on this case from reading the PCA. I wonder if the knife sheath got pulled out while struggling with one of the victims. The police did an excellent job containing the information for so long.

This shows the value of license plate readers in solving crimes. The ACLU has fought the use of LPRs. It seems that the only people with any reason to object to their use would be those committing crimes.

Lets be fair, it's not only criminals that object to tracking devices and 24/7 surveillance.

Maybe she was using more than alcohol and didn't know if what she was seeing was real? We don't know what the relationships were between all of the people in the house. It appears that each student rented individually from the landlord so who knows how friendly they were toward each other. I've known people who didn't get along well with others renting in the same house and sharing common areas.

You're correct, it would be the criminals and the lawyers who represent criminals who object.

Oh yikes. I didn’t know she didn’t do shit for 8 hours. Sounds suspicious.
