Idaho Murders

I borrowed it from someone over at reddit that put it together from a Zillow virtual tour of the house that has since been deleted.
So how did reddit figure out where the knife sheath was? Did it say which room in the affidavit?

Yeah this doesn't make sense. If she thought it was just a one night stand of her roommates who was wearing a mask because COVID, then she wouldn't have been shocked or afraid.

But the fact that she mentions that she was in shock means that she suspected something was wrong. And if she suspected something was wrong then why did she wait 6 hours to report it?

And why did the guy walk past her and let her live? Seems strange that someone willing to kill 4 people would suddenly refuse to kill a 5th if it helped him get away.

That PCA was incredible, but this is the part that confused me as well. Keep in mind, the PCA only needs to have enough to warrant an arrest. It's not the totality of the evidence they collected or the testimony they have. That will come out at trial. That was shocking to read she saw Kohberger walking right towards her. I do have a theory. Kohberger killed Xana and Ethan on Floor 2, then went upstairs and killed Maddie and Kaylee but cut his hand in the process. Panicking, and wanting to get out before he left any blood evidence, he decided to bail. I think he did see the roommate that saw him, but decided not to kill her with blood coming out of his hand. I could be completely wrong though.

I’ve read the PCA a few times did I miss where it states the DNA source on the snap/button on the sheath was from blood? I’ve heard people say that but haven’t seen it on the PCA.

Amateur Hour:rolleyes:

- Stalking your victims is best down on bike. You can buy one for cash, wear a helmet and mask on your rides, making you more difficult to identify, and bikes, especially second hand ones are tougher to trace than cars.

It also gives you a reasonable excuse for being near the area regularly; it was on your route. And as a bonus, it improves your cardio for game day. Murder is a Full Contact Sport and needs to be trained for as such.

- Never drive your own car to a murder site. Steal plates from one car, put them on a second stolen car.

- Never take your phone with you when staking your victims. Leave it at home. Take a burner phone in case of emergencies. Again, cycling gives a ready-made excuse for this: you didn't want to risk breaking your phone if you crashed.

- I can't believe I have to say this, but never, ever leave your DNA, on the sheath of the murder weapon, at the fucking murder site! A Ka-Bar is not a small weapon; he should have noticed the sheath was missing. Also, there are a lot of good folding/flick knives that don't require any sheath at all.

- And in todays lesson, boys and girls, we learn once again why it's important to wear precautions: a Kill Suit. Ironically, CSI techs wear them; all in one disposable suits that cover you from head to foot. Wear gloves, preferably two pairs, in case one get's ripped.

Hindsight is always 20/20..

The roommate not doing anything even though she’s in “frozen shock phase” doesn’t seem strange to me at all. 90% of people have terrible situational awareness 100% of the time. This poor kid should be cut tons of slack in my opinion.

She’s under the influence and she’s trying to sleep it off.
It’s a party house. Who knows how many people have been in and out on the weekends there?
She’s been awakened 3 times.
Person is on their way out..

She feels weird but locks her door and sleeps it off until she metabolizes enough to get up see what’s gonna happen today.

Sounds like some Saving Private Ryan shit.

It's a bit puzzling though. Before the affadavit, many were speculating the other roommates didn't hear anything because they were asleep which kind of makes sense. But, at least one of them was not asleep. And, there were defensive wounds, so there must mave been a bit of a struggle and they believe he was committing the murders for something like 15 minutes. How did the roommate who was up not hear anything? I believe it even says in the affadavit that the neighboring house's camera picked up noises from the house.

It's really weird.

I haven't seen any official source say what it was. But I know you can get DNA from blood, saliva, and skin cells.

Can you get a sample from sweat? I'm sure he was sweating.

The one roommate heard what she thought was the girl playing with her dog. I guess she does that, gets the dog all excited he starts barking and jumping around.

I could see how she would think that.

I'm surprised nobody screamed help me or anything like that. We originally all thought he killed them in their sleep but now it sounds like at least one person and a dog were awake. She can be heard crying. Why didn't she scream? Shock, maybe?

Also, anyone know how big the dog was? I'm assuming some kind of Chihuahua because if it were a big dog it would've tried to protect the master.

It doesn't make any sense. Maybe the one that heard noise is afraid to say they knew people were being killed.

And, if she was crying, wouldn't you check to see why she's crying?

If you think people are being killed, you hope that person would lock their door and call 911. Perhaps that would saved at least one life.

I think y'all are making too many assumptions about the roommate. She saw a guy leave from what is essentially a dorm room. Doesn't exactly scream "murderer". It's just a random guy someone might've had over, for all they know. They're not like a family unit or anything. They're just college kids sharing a house with each other. They all have their own lives, and it's not all that foreign to see people you don't know in a place you're sharing roommates.

No, it doesn't state that. We don't know if he left blood. I was just theorizing why he spared the roommate that saw him. We don't even know if he saw her or said anything either.

"She said the man walked past her toward a sliding glass door as she stood in a "frozen shock phase." After seeing the person, whom she did not recognize, she locked herself inside her room, she told authorities."

If she thought it was just a friend of her roommate's, then why was she frozen in shock?
