Idaho Murders

Huh? Then she went to sleep.

"D.M. stated she opened her door for the third time after she heard the crying and saw a figure clad in black clothing and a mask that covered the person's mouth and nose walking towards her. D.M. described the figure as 5' 10" or taller, male, not very muscular, but athletically built with bushy eyebrows. The male walked past D.M. as she stood in a "frozen shock phase." The male walked towards the back sliding glass door. D.M. locked herself in her room after seeing the male. D.M. did not state that she recognized the male. This leads investigators to believe that the murderer left the scene."
Yeah this doesn't make sense. If she thought it was just a one night stand of her roommates who was wearing a mask because COVID, then she wouldn't have been shocked or afraid.

But the fact that she mentions that she was in shock means that she suspected something was wrong. And if she suspected something was wrong then why did she wait 6 hours to report it?

And why did the guy walk past her and let her live? Seems strange that someone willing to kill 4 people would suddenly refuse to kill a 5th if it helped him get away.

Looks like a younger version of this guy. Same frame and everything just not missing an arm.

I recommend you read the affidavit that was released today. It's actually very interesting and an easy read.

For all the media that was suggesting that the local police were fucking this investigation up, once you read it, you see that they did a great job. They prove his car went back and forth to the murder scene, his cell phone went back and forth to the murder scene, and that his DNA was at the murder scene. On a knife sheath.

They got him.

His lawyer is going to have to try an insanity defense because there's no doubt that he killed them.

Agreed. Motive and why they were targeted is what I'm interested in.

How in the hell does a criminology major think it's a good idea to take his cel phone with him to a murder? LOL what a moron.

That's so stupid that it's suspicious... it would be pretty easy for the state to conure fake cel-phone records.

He went back to the scene/near the scene at 9 am the same morning, cell phone in tow. Who knows why but retrieval of the knife sheath is a possibility. They don't make PhDs like they used to.

Yeh I’m such a genius I’m going to take my car and my cell phone to the murder than leave my murder weapon sheath on the ground with dna on it lol

I don't know how anyone got the idea that a PhD student is a genius, but they're generally not. Especially in criminology. That's the major that people choose because they're not smart enough to do advanced math.

But to answer your question, he turned his phone off during the time period around the murders. I guess he thought that would keep him safe. But the cops first suspicion was that he neglected to turn it off on all the scouting trips he made days and weeks before the murder. And sure enough, they got his phone going to that house several times. He's been planning this for months.

My IQ is 107. Completely average. However, I was told by a couple of friends, both studying for PhD's, that was high enough to earn a Degree as long as I didn't pick one of the elite subjects like Math, and applied myself very hard to my studies.

There's an old Academic joke that PhD stands for, "Piled higher and Deeper";)

Insanity is out the window with all that planning.. he’s cooked. Fuckem

Someone who knew him in middle school is posting online. Apparently he was very overweight back then. Got teased. Socially awkward. Anger issues. And they theorize some mental illness, perhaps bipolar.

Apparently he lost over 100 lbs when he got into boxing in high school.

That might explain why he wasn't afraid to attack these girls even though there was a guy in the house. He was confident in a fight.

Could also give his attorney a chance to argue CTE as a defense. Since there have been famous examples of guys with cte that wind up killing people. Phil Baroni being the most recent.

You have to account for the stupidity of today's young people. Lack of common sense, lack of communication skills, coddled lives. You see it in action daily when someone is attacked, young people's first thought is "to record" not to help.

Lots of people are shocked by how dumb he was to not cover his tracks when he studied this stuff in school.

But what if his studies convinced him of how flawed the system is and it made him even more confident that he could get away with it? I mean, he applied for an internship with the police and wrote that he was going to help them use technical data to solve crimes or some shit. Implying that they're so dumb they need his help because they can't do it themselves.

What a damn idiot this dude was. He was pulled over that summer and he knew LE had his number and he stalked with his cell phone on and only turned off his cell to commit the murder but left it on his entire trip otherwise???

And, how many times does this dude get pulled over? He got pulled over in the summer and twice on his way back home?

And, one of the roommates saw the dude leave and just locked her bedroom door? WTF?
