Idaho Murders

Every time I roll over, I fire a few rounds into the dark just to be safe

I've got a coworker that was still living at home and his parents were gone for the weekend. He heard a bump in the night and grabbed a gun and went into his parents room. He saw a figure move to his left as soon as he entered the room and he opened fire.

Wound up shooting his own reflection in the mirror of his mother's wardrobe lol

Oh man!! If you are Oregon your gun laws are potentially getting even worse! They want (or have made) laws that you can't even get hunting rifles without a permit or some dumb law showing you are proficient shooting it.

As of now I believe both Oregon and Washington you can get rilfes (including AR-15s) shipped to you (have to ship to an FFL dealer, or just go to the shop). Better get 'em while you can though!

Personally I'd get a 5.56 AR-15 for it's versatility. You can always slap a 300 blackout upper (barrel) on a ar-15 lower (trigger, stock, etc.) with jsut a few pins pulled out very easily. An AR-15 can shoot .22lr ammo with a $200 kit that's a bolt and a few mags so you can practice with your AR using cheap .22lr ammo

But now I"m turning it into weapons and tactics thread ;)
these laws will be challenged as unconstitutional in court for a while so they won't be going into effect for some time.
In the meantime the local shops will hook you up!

you will if you don't shut the fuck up and speak when spoken to

oh wait i spoke to you didn't i? all is swell chap
dafuq?
"oh!!! I can post a pic of a cooler gun than you did!"
That's usually followed up with some "gunsplaining", so don't let us down.
Besides, it's not even the topic of the thread.

This part blows my mind about the whole thing.

With 2 years on you would barely be out of your probationary time at my agency. You sure as shit would not be in charge of a high profile multiple murder case.

That agency is absolutely in over its head and for sure fucked up a lot of the investigation from the start.

In the UK, police officers need to serve a minimum two years probation on response(street)duties before they can even apply for specialised duties like CID(detectives).

A UK copper with two years in would be lucky of the senior Detectives trusted him to get them coffee and bacon rolls.

Isn't the FBI leading the investigation now? How does that work?

I wonder what the turnover rate is for local police within a college town?

Interrupting off campus parties and constant noise complaints must motivate more experienced cops to look elsewhere for a job once they get their feet wet.

I live in a college town. The cops tend to be young and there are want ads within the local paper fairly regularly.

Pretty sure they have high turn over. Lots of guys start there and then lateral out to other agencies after a few years.

I have no idea what a bacon roll is, but now I want one.
