I have a friend who's family came from Peru. He is a a US citizen born and raised here in NJ. Years ago he over stayed his visa in Peru and was rounded up and deported. And there is nothing wrong with that. He was a guest and they removed him when he didn't leave when he was supposed to.

This app will cost us taxpayers money by making immigration enforcement more difficult and may end up getting ice agents killed.

Most legal immigrants I know hate illegals. They worked hard to be citizens and feel others should too.

No, all it tells you is where a cop is parked. Nobody on the roads has committed an offense worthy of being pulled over until the officer sees a reason to. Not the same with ICE. They are actively seeking out people who have already broken the law.

I'm all for deportation illegals and working in the grey zone to do it; but it's the exact same thing as traffic cop notification. There's also nothing stopping somone creating an app notifying people where illegals are in public.

I’ve seen way worse here lately like wishing for protestors to be shot dead in the streets and those folks never got any yellows or bans so doesn’t feel justified here in that case. Setting aside the fact that they're literally kidnapping people at immigration hearings, they're actively pushing to denaturalize and deport US citizens. Anyone who's saying "well, why didn't they come in legally" is either pathologically stupid, or is intentionally gaslighting people. In either case, they don't merit a sincere response.

Gotta agree. Context counts, the regulars on both sides in here can get pretty creative with how open for interpretation their harsher comments are perceived.
I much prefer that type of case by case approach to when dubs are potentially being handed out.

The other approach would be more of a zero tolerance policy for any and all offenses no matter the variation.
It gets ugly in here, sure. But hardly anyone gets 86d permanently over anything less than habitual line stepping.
