Social ICE/deportation protests and riots megathread

Wasn't a female shoplifter killed when she tried to drive away and a cop was standing in front of her vehicle? Did the cop face charges?
Ta'kiya Young was shot to death by Officer Connor Grubb in Blendon Township, Ohio after she slowly rolled her car towards him as he stood front of the vehicle. He was charged with murder, manslaughter, and assault for the killing of Ta'Kiya Young. It went to trial and he was acquitted by a jury but he was charged none the less.

Clearly trying to get away vs trying to kill officer, but if I'm being honest, on initial reviews I think there's enough plausible deniability to justify shooting in the moment, because it doesn't become super apparent that they're trying to turn away until the moment shots are fired.

RIP to that woman and I'm sad for whoever who family is.

They will. On your dime too.

People are already terrified by ICE as they're able to act with impunity and seemingly no checks and balances, hence people acting irrationally, trying to aggressively drive away from them so they're not whisked away and have no contact with anyone. It puts the masked man child in a bad spot and results in a pointless death.

Murrica in '26.
On to another city,

Rinse and repeat..

All US cops are toooooooo fucking trigger happy. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

Just came by to say FUCK ICE once again. This is disgusting. How the fuck do you justify shooting someone in the face like that? Whoever pulled that trigger needs to face real consequences.

An important thing to realize is,

They are not cops..

100%. If these were officers who weren't masked and were easily identifiable, not people operating as faceless abductors with no oversight, she likely would have listened and not panicked to this degree. She probably read stories and saw clips of ICE and freaked. Here we are.

Her wife was there and witnessed the shooting. They have a six year old daughter. :(

Got damn. Tragic. Whether you think it was justified or not, I don't considering the circumstances about ICE as a whole, I think we can all agree a mother losing her life is very sad.

Sad thing is after a good year of this,

There is no need to read any stories or see clips..

It’s already imbedded.

Yeah, I'm willing to give the ICE Agent the benefit of the doubt, but gallows humour aside, I take no pleasure in what happened. A woman lost her life, another woman lost her wife and a child lost her mother. All in a few seconds of violence.

There are no winners here. :(

I think any woman would be apprehensive to four five masked men who she thinks are going to pull her out of a car and take her away to some random place where no one knows she's there. Some, probably a rare few, wouldn't be freaked out and would remain calm. Clips like these, and countless others, are burned indelibly into people's minds.
