Social ICE/deportation protests and riots megathread

Correct. If 902 American citizens are hoarding a combined 5-6 TRILLION dollars, I’m ok with redistributing some of it.

Make America great again, right!!? How about a marginal tax rate like we had in the 50s and 60s, easily our most prosperous era as a nation. What could be greater than having the best education system in the world? Highest quality of life? Lowest crime rate? Best medical system on the planet? Lowest rates of child hunger in the first world?

The resources are there.

Take that third image and multiply that pile of rice 50 times and that’s closer to what those 900 weirdos are hoarding.

The U.S. ranks lower than nearly every other wealthy country on social mobility indices (OECD). The "American Dream" is more attainable in Denmark, Canada, and Finland.

Our middle class is disappearing, our wealth inequality is growing, wealth concentration is growing, our CEO to worker pay ratio is 2-3x higher than any comparable country in the world.

Fuck this late stage capitalism.
I hear that Switzerland has legal prostitution…… just a random factoid, a lot of relaxed folks.

Wealth concentration is due to our housing situation, and other countries with housing issues have a poor concentration of wealth, like Australia, and pretty much any big city in America where housing is unaffordable.

Someone's getting the same exact talking points and same wording. LMAO All on the same date June 9th. They're doing their homework assignments.

I'm for mass deportations BTW.

Just that both sides are playing politics and exaggerating and lying constantly.

All the right wingers are over exaggerating that all these migrants are doing crime, that they're only going after criminals, etc.

No - the vast majority being deported are illegal, but came as economic migrants. That's the reality.

Matt Walsh recently did a video talking about the problems with diversity. I think the other guys may have piggybacked off his tweet.

Unpack this for me, i can’t see the connection.
Homeowners build wealth via property appreciation and equity, while renters don’t. Wealthier people can afford homes; lower-income individuals often can’t.

Utah, high home ownership, lower income disparity

California, low home ownership, high income disparity

outside of america

Australia, UK, lower home ownership (situation is getting worse by the day), high income disparity

Romania, Netherlands, Hungary, Norway, higher home ownership, lower income disparity

they are tied at the hip, those that own will be getting rental income, which grows that disparity.

I'd say that income disparity based on housing problems, wont easily be solved with taxation, landlords arent dumb, you mess with their bottom line, and they can grow the disparity simply by raising rent, which pushes the tenant further away, and landlord further ahead with the government as the middle man, essentially collecting from the tenant. For me, that's the only time I raise rents, when there's regulations passed that make my life harder, I'm raising the rent, because I sure as hell aint eating it..... and the amount of people who would line up for my rental units are kind of insane despite high prices.

I do the same thing with raising rates at my gym- when my cost of operations fo up (3% NNN increase, for example).

I rent an ADU and always keep the price lower than average bc it helps me attract a lot of qualified renters. With bigger numbers I can put someone I trust in there.

You are right, I know people paying 2k a month or more in rent who can’t qualify for a loan to take in an 1800 dollar a month mortgage. I see your point for the disparity between millionaires and the working poor, but it the 900 guys hoarding onto 6+ trillion dollars are the real culprits. Business owners like you and I invest back into the economy. Guys going for the high score simply don’t

the top 1er's are likely hoarding equity, and it's across a lot of other countries as well. From what I recall, in Australia, top 1's own nearly as much as america's top 1 as a percentage of the gdp, it's not all that different and at that point, there's the chicken vs egg debate, is it the income disparity that causes the issues or something else that causes income disparity?

I am of the opinion it's the housing market, right wing, left wing, it doesnt seem to make the biggest difference as long as housing is destroyed, and if you rent out some stuff, like it or not, our income disparity is quite large compared to the normal joe, and it likely puts you in the top 10 of earners and probably higher in net worth, leading right back to equity of the ultra wealthy. They own shares, they own property, they're value is not quite liquid, and especially if the equity is tied to their company, their company would crumble if they liquidated or even taxed on shares..... but on the flip side, we have to pay property taxes on a yearly basis, and I dont think that's a universal practice...........

People don't realize they are interfering with some of these arrest ..

They forgot the *will also continue to arrest legal immigrants and send them to a slave labor camp and disregarding the Supreme Court
