Got to love celebrities that know nothing deciding to weigh in on a situations and get everything wrong.
This is who you guys are 'arguing' and 'debating' with.
Kelly Osborne said the left want a permanent underclass.
you don’t know many poor people, do you?The massively increased demand for Jordans and rims massively increases the price of these items.
Agree. Subsidy, not replacementWe will need UBI, but we will still need people to be productive
Then why take vacation? Days off? Work 8 hours instead of 12?I actually do.
you don’t know many poor people, do you?
I’ll play for a little while, but if I get bored or hungry or lose interest I’ll probably do something else. What are you basing that on? My 'incorrect' assertion that they tend to waste what little money they do have on trivial bullshit?
That's the biggest way to stay in poverty if you're otherwise doing everything right. Living 'a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget.'
I am happy to go back and forth on that as I've done it before and I have all my sources and studies lined up and ready to go.
Your call.

Poor people I know (that is to say, most people I know) spend majority of their money on food, gas, insurance, rent, etc. 1-2k a month would buy them breathing room on bills and save their asses in a pinch.
That can’t be true from a mathematical standpoint point, or else you’re using the term “necessities”‘wrong.Everyone spends the majority of their money on necessities
Cool. Did he use that money to make your life better? Safer? Easier? My dad was dirt poor growing up and died a millionaire
What if we could provide that same quality of life and opportunity without having to live so frugally? Imagine being able to send the kids to medical school while still being home to spend time with them more, enjoy time off together, and take a bigger role in raising them?sacrifice and work hard, live frugally and send their kids to medical school

Except employment and labor participation rates remain extremely high. The issue is the population is aging faster than new workers can enter the labor market.More like the US doesn't want people to work anymore. It's been a slow, but obvious trend. When screens replaced *McDonalds* employees, everyone is on the block.
Food, water, rent, insurance, education- such rewards! And this is what it ultimately always comes back to in these conversations. You want the reward without the sacrifice. That never ends up working out and you end up with the USSR and everyone starving to death.
There is no free lunch.
Correct. If 902 American citizens are hoarding a combined 5-6 TRILLION dollars, I’m ok with redistributing some of it.Who's we? You're talking about stealing other people's money. 'We' wouldn't be doing it. Your plan revolves around stealing from people better off than you.
