Turns out the LA protests were indeed helped to be organized by prominent socialist and pro-Communist organizations.

The The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), the Los Angeles chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the Freedom Road Socialist Organization and the World Socialist Web Site.

the PSL promoted and organized protests on June 8, while the DSA has promoted protests for June 9 and 10.

Great depression had very little impact in Russia, China was more impacted by war with Japan and its own stupid failures than it was the depression.
