Social ICE/deportation protests and riots megathread

Time for me to work through my thoughts. I hate trump, but I agree with the deportations of repeat offenders. He is however, deporting families and people with jobs that seem to contribute something to society that have been here for many years. I don’t like ice tactics of plain clothes jump outs and unmarked panel vans. Do they have specific targets or are they just rounding people up and determining who belongs and who does not? I am not anti immigrant at all-they bring culture, most are hard working, they work in our restaurants, fields, yards, etc. and they work hard. The bums with no jobs acting like leeches and the criminals -fuck them send their asses packing.

Because I hate trump and I don’t like the way he is doing this, I can kind of understand at least partially, the protesters points. This does feel like it won’t pass anytime soon.

As for the rioters, fuck them with a pineapple and me being a nice guy, I will even let them pick which end goes in first-jaggy leaves or bib bulbous part first. I fucking hate rioters with a passion. Burning shit down, throwing bricks at cops, doing their little guerilla war tactics where they throw something and then run and blend into the crowd like a great flapping pussy. Blocking roadways violating my right to freely travel (9th amendment rights) and that really pisses me off.

These protest are nothing like the George Floyd, burning cities down. There are maybe 10-20 bad actors, and the rest are peaceful. But agreed.

No. The tweet said "LA is out of control" not the convoy. Also, they were saying LAPD was not around. Those guys there are ICE officers and soldiers. I don't fall for Nigerian prince scams but I bet you gave away your CC info to them multiple times it looks like.

I mean ya if it turned out LAPD supplied the protestors the protective gear to minimize serious injuries to the public, I would think that was pretty cool of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was some nurses, paramedics, or doctors at the demonstrations, looking for ways to keep people safe.

Trump is purposefully instilling fear through cruelty and surprise. In parts of the country where these immigrants are still only one small part of the community they can disappear without much disruption and it successfully instills fear but in parts of the country where immigrants make up a significant part of the community this will be very provocative and provoke a reaction. Instead of leaving it to the state and local officials Trump is taking a heavy hand and nationalizing the guard without the governor's consent for the first time in decades. And now hundreds of Marines are being sent to LA and rules of engagement are being frantically drafted as we speak. Doesn't Trump look awfully like a tyrant right about now?
