As long as having encampments is acceptable, people will take advantage. I agree with you on the zoning and housing regulations part. Mental health care is a huge component as well. You could fund a lot of social programs with millionaires’ tax dollars. The encampments certainly bring the wealth disparity to the forefront.

They want to draw out reactions so they have an excuse to give them hell. During the BLM riots, the feds were dropping off pallets of bricks and cinder blocks to tempt protestors. So I’ve been watching this/reading/listening all day to this, and I have a terrible feeling that this is some type of setup by Republicans to make Democrats look bad/ and get enough support back for the BBB which is currently dead in the water from Elon. Obviously there are just some bad people wanting mayhem in general. But the narratives that popped up on Twitter, with all the usual suspects like Jones and his elk posting photos from 2020, to now masked figures with the Mexican flag with burning vehicles in the background. Every single right wing account parroting the same rhetoric, which is causing chaos like Newsom has said. I don’t even like a Newsom or his policy’s but he isn’t wrong. Also Trump tweeted that the National guard is to thank for putting the protest down, when I haven’t seen a single live feed with any guardsmen in it. The police chief said ICE tried to say they refused to respond and help them yesterday and he flat out said they are lying and responded within 38 minutes. It is wild what is happening and if the right is behind causing this cause and mayhem, there should be legal consequences for it.
