Social ICE/deportation protests and riots megathread

How many people were arrested for going to Jeffrey Epstein's island? Guess that means it never happened, huh?

Hilarious how you guys change arguments. It used to be 'arrest numbers for certain demographics compared to other groups aren't accurate because not everyone who commits a crime gets arrested.'

'Now it's 'only 50 crimes could have possibly happened because only 50 people got arrested.'

WTF are you talking about? i'm sure the total amount of crimes is far greater than 50, but overall the amount of total violence and arrest is nowhere close to the likes of BLM protest that literally burned cities down.

Why did Bondi completely stop talking about the Epstein files after stating she had "truckloads" of evidence to release? A bit weird eh?

Newsome literally told the cops to let it happen.

If the governor tells the police to stand down during a riot, do you think that might affect the arrest numbers?

Wait, so now your argument is the police were told to completely stand down, and yet not a single person was seriously injured or any building burnt down? So why did Trump call the National Guard?

Certainly not when illegal aliens are being deported, as per the wishes of the majority of the country.

Currently the majority of Americans disprove of the manner in which Trump is interpreting and enforcing immigration laws. Hence the outrage and the subsequent protests across the nation.

Gerrymandering is far more consequential in determine district control than the census/population count. So if that is what he was referring to, it's still BS in my opinion.
Just say you’re wrong

You claimed leftist protestors in LA are escalating
Sure there are certainly indications of that to say the least though I think many of them are immigrants outraged by the raids rather than leftists necessarily. I'm sorry to say but I'm still not sure what point you're trying to make here.

Does anyone else feel very strongly against deploying marines to police our own citizens? National guard is fine, but damn does the idea of marines being used bothers me so much. I don’t much care if anything bad happens to rioters but it’s just the thought of deploying marines on US soil.

Newsom called in 8000 National Guard troops during the George Floyd riots. 2020 riots and the current ICE protests across the US are very different things.

Trump deployed no troops to the capital on Jan 6 and sent 1000 troops to LA this week which California leadership has stated was completely inappropriate.

First, I hate trump and he disgusts me, but how in the hell would national guard have been able to be mobilized to do anything on j6? These things take time. Maybe he should have had them in place beforehand but there’s no way once the riot started that any guardsmen could have been ready to do anything.

You seem eager to place the onus solely on Trump even though you won't deny left wing extremists are escalating the tensions.

I'll revise my line of logic so we can try and meet somewhere near the middle.

Don't you think local and state officials should be attempting to de-escalate instead of wage a political war with Trump over him trying to counter the escalations by the left?

Slippery slope for sure. Next time they're deployed it might not be for something you agree with. trump and the Republicans won't be in power forever, so how you accomplish things is almost as important as what you accomplish, imo.

this feels like the opening to Running Man
