Ians MT and PL log-2

Ian - Do you, or have you at any time, used a program to help plan your running and cardio, or is it just based off experience and feeling?

Starting to want to put some structure into my cardio training at the mo, got so used to having a defined structure to all my training from lifting that this whole thing is making me feel slightly weirded out. Ah well, any help you can give would be appreciated mate.

I also would be interested to hear your thoughts on this Ian.

My watch died about 3 minutes into the run so no idea how long it was.

Cardio

Sept challenge
Only got to 32. Blitzed the first 14 in less then a minute, but shot my load and felt shagged


Clean and press

Played about while I had it loaded. Got 5 @ 55, 5 @ 60, 3@65, 2@70, 1@75, couldn't get under the bar for the 2nd rep

Weighted pull ups

[email protected] for 3 or 5 sets (I forget), [email protected], 1@125 I think

Cycle tabata- 8 - after a 5 min warm up. Last 2 were standing hill sprints because the resistance was too high to get going for low cycle rate that it was on during rest.

Did some other stuff bu can't remember now

Went to Helsinki for work. Did 80 sit ups and 80 burpees in the hotel room with press up. The first 10 were with a tuck jump, the last 30 also, the ones in between, not so much

Up UK time at 3.50 am. Was going for a run but thought the likelihood of me getting lost was high (even took my gear) so did 60 push ups and 100 sit ups.


pm- Got home and went for a runat 11.30pm. I had a long day.
On the plus side with being rusty and off 5 hours sleep and on my feet all day, I did a 2 miler in 14 min 55, the first mile averaging 6 min 42 per mile, the last mile was split more into 2, 4 and a 2 run, I had to take walking/low jogging breaks in that because I was feeling fatiqued. Probably just the mind there and not being used to running at speed

I took none. I went last year and took a few but nothing really interesting.

On a fwap side note- I answered the door yesterday morning while mid shower to a 21 year old hotel girl who was dropping off my breakie. All I had on was a towel around my mid rift.

Nothing wrong with steak!

Only reason I'm cutting down is because it makes running easier

Monday 6th
In london for work
Ran to james park, did 2 fast laps around. Managed the first one until I had to slow down, second one was about the same but with a few more stops.

Got to the entrance and stood still to recover, stretch and more importantly get the bloody satellite signal for the forerunner. I was trying to get a signal but no joy during the runs.

Did another lap best effort. Had to slow down a few times (until my fitness catches up I always run fartlek style) bu finished in 9 min 55. It's slightly over 1.5 miles the route I ran and it was the 3rd one so thats's not too bad. It's not that good, but after doing 3 1/2 miles fast running before starting the 1.5, it wasn't bad. The last 1/5 mile was a attempted sprint averaging 5 min 35 s mile.

Just did 40 burpees before breakfast arrived along with 70 sit ups and 40 press ups. Nothing major
Today I was going to do some interval work before work, but I ended up staying up till 1 30 having sexy time so I'm going to run hill sprints during lunch

Yay me
