Day hiking and overnight camping in the new Soulo tent.
Hill fitness is definitely lacking, especially with 20kg+ on my back.

My new years resolution with baby on the way is to drop 10+ lbs and get consistent running in, which is why I'm going to get some shoes on and get a 6 miler in after I've updated the log.

Side note- felt like dog shit pre 27th and still now.

Got a last run in for the year.
Nice and gentle 5.25 mile run with a pace of 9 min something.


HR monitor is fucked so no idea of HR, but I was breathing through the nose for most of it so not hard pace.

11 mile hike with the wife. No real ascent, maybe 1000 ft

Pace was obviously slow as it was a recreational walk with a nearly 7 months pregnant woman,

Again nice gentle AM run starting at like 0705. 3.5 miles coming in at just under 9 min mile pace. Run time 31 min to get to the .5.

PM

Will be lifting. Waiting for the phone to finish charging so I have some music. Debating on squats or DL. Probably former as deadlift I'll do on the Saturday I think.

Cardio
7.25 mile run with 315m total ascent.
Didn't beast it but 1 mile alone was 200m ascent so...yeah.

Took 1 hr 10 in total because of the above.


Need to get more hills in the legs

Cardio

Again testing.
Just did a light 4 mile jog in 37 minutes. Average was 9 min 4s.

Back felt better so slow and steady. Managed to change the battery in the HR monitor in one of them in the pm.

Will be running home post work, nice and gentle due to the back.

Edit- Ran home, gentle jog. Average HR was like 157 bpm but the pace was 9 min 01 per minute.

Cardio
7.75 miles nice and slow up the hills around the house. Took a load of photos so pace was way down. Average HR was 151 bpm but went to 175+ during the long slog up the hills.
Total ascent was 320m. (mostly in the 3-4 miles)

Cardio
45 minutes on the spin bike. Average HR was in min 140's.

Got home, loaded a pack up (well..loaded being 9kg in liquid and the bag) and did 14inch step ups for 20 minutes.

Shit is boring, but trying to build some leg stamina. Following day (today as writing), legs feel fine but the lower back is pretty sore.
I was intending on doing 30-45 minutes, but with the cycling earlier I did after a long day at work.

Got up as looking to spend the weekend, or at least tonight, on the hills

35 minute run, no idea HR or distance. Ended up being a dumbass and left it on cardio so didn't log gps data.

Hiking
Spent the night out.
Friday 2 and a bit miles before it got dark and set up camp/
Saturday 9.5 miles through bog, in the drizzling scottish rain. Got to the turn around point (loch katrine), got a brew, had a beer and snickers, hiked back.

Shit weather, poor underfoot (mostly bog and flooded 'path' that was indistinguishable) and poor sleep (wind, slipped off sleeping mat) led me to fuck off the second night. To be honest, I needed a good 24 hours to sort out the kit as I gained 5kg in water through the sodden pack and tent. Bathroom until Sunday was like a steam room with the electric heater and wetness.
