News Ian Watkins stabbed and killed in Prison

So the internet and Hollywood lied to me?

I was told sex offenders were killed the first night in prison.

I'm disappointed.

It's funny, I don't know what I was doing but I somehow completely missed these guys 15 minutes of fame.

Usually even if I don't care for a band I'm still aware of their existence when they have a big hit. Especially in the 90s

Yeah same. Had no clue who this was.

The music video for a town called hypocrisy is the creepiest music video of all time given the context.

The premise of the music video is that the lead singer of the band (guy who was killed in jail in the opening post) is hosting a live action kids show but the kids show has secret adult sex jokes thrown in it and after each episode ends all the actors party and do drugs. The premise of it is things aren't always how they appear on the outside.

What makes it absolutely terrifying is in real life the lead singer was molesting babies at the time and was even preying on single moms that were fans of the band.

Essentially the premise of music video was happening in real life and nobody knew it. Even creepier that they were presenting that message with a kids show.
Wtf he was molesting babys ? I read in the op 13 year old.

Ok well that explains it then. So the story is basically random p3do gets killed in prison. So not really a story at all.
There 2004 album got decent reviews and some touring momentum (opened for Metallica, Hoobastank, and Linkin Park) but then they never really broke into mainstream.

They did a 2006 album with a big shot producer (bob rock) and it didn't really stick. They were trying to do a very heavily produced myspace era emo style album and it wasn't nearly as good as the 2004 album. The music video rooftops was played a bunch summer of 2006 and that was about it. The tour they did for the album wasn't very big, so that didn't help.

Those other myspace era band ended up being way more popular (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Boys like Girls, Taking back Sunday, Fallout Boy, Panic at the Disco, We The Kings, Cartel).

In a way it was odd because they had more momentum/hype than those listed bands going into that era but they still fizzled out sooner than all of them.

The OP meant 13 total offenses of assault not that the person was physically 13. He was specifically targeting literal babies

Internationally maybe......in the UK they had a decent following. They weren't mega popular, but they were definitely a known bad.

Was a big story there when he got arrested.

I know there was a previous knife attack on him a while back, where he survived but sustained injuries

Always bizarre to me because I was a fan of Lostprophets in school. It still gives me insane nostalgia even knowing what Watkins did
Everyone who played NFS Underground knew that band.

I find it amazing that such a completely depraved fuck was actually sane enough to have pretty successful career as a mainstream musician.

You'd think people that far gone just do odd jobs here and there.
