Guy made it close against Shavkat and took his back. Prates is a good knockout artist on guys who have nothing for him but Ian Garry has a lot for him

Interesting that Garry even takes this fight.

I'd love to see them go toe-to-toe, but Garry likely circles and grapples as much as possible against Prates.

The Sherdog poll is quite surprising, but some people just pick against Garry because they don't like him.

Garry will be bigger, stronger, and faster. His measurables alone will win him fights against anyone outside the top 5. The only thing holding him back is his unwillingness to impose his own game.

Legit. I'm torn on Garry. Like, his personality and fight style suck ass. His willingness to take fights that everyone else avoid like the plague make me respect the hell out of him as a fighter.

Absolutely. Great call on Cub. I don't remember him being quite as cheesy as Garry way back when but it's still a great comparison because Cub went from cocky California asshole kid to beloved and well thought out ambassador of the sport. Oh, and he absolutely owes a lot of it to being a badass that's willing to fight anyone.

Also...the legendary fight with Korean Superboy helped cement Cub as a guy everyone roots for. Maybe Garry gets a banger like that at some point too.

Garry ain't scurred. You gotta hand it to him, he's got guts....guts that Carlos is going to ram his foot into. Like others have said, on the feet he'll wreck Ian, but I think I see Ian trying to wall and stall as much as he can to avoid damage. Picked Carlos because each round starts standing and it could be enough to give him the edge.

I'm not a fan of Ian but I respect the hell out of him for not perpetuating extreme weight cuts.

Surprised by the poll. I don’t think it will be a close fight at all. Prates has a chance to land a big punch, but I think that chance is very small.

That's a really good replacement main event. Props to both for accepting on fairly short notice. Garry is definitely capable of winning a boring decision here from range, but I'm rooting hard for Prates.

Ian Gary is no power broker who calls his shots and picks his own opponents in the UFC LOL. He has to fight who ever he is told to fight by the UFC, period.
"Oh Ian is so brave, he is so brave" lol.
Ian's wife needs money, so Ian has to fight whomever Dana and his significant other tell him to fight.
I don't care wo wins this one, just as long as they "get it on".
