He mans up and defends his featherweight title like a true champion. I will start to respect him when he does that whether he wins or loses. If he does win than I will gain even more respect for him if he defends it a 2nd time because I feel that he needs to be fighting Aldo a second time and he needs to give Edgar the shot he's earned. If he doesn't fight one of these guys at UFC 200 it's gonna be hard for me to respect him as a fighter or a champion.

no I wanna see him get knocked out by Jon Jones

you actually make a good point .
It's no seceret that i don't like Conor and i think he does have some ball trying to take a title in the higher division and also possible eyeing off the welter weight title but a champ should defend his title .

Why do you think anyone cares about what Conor has to do to gain your respect?

News flash, he's never going to make it back to that weight again...

He should just vacate asap everybody knows he won't be able to make 145 again

Well if I was a fighter I would want to be respected by my team, my opponents, promoters, and the fans. I would aspire to gain the respect of all of the above.

Conor isn't gonna defend if he wins another belt. He will likely vacate featherweight.

I would also gain some respect for him if he vacates the belt but he needs to vacate it before UFC 200 if he doesn't plan on defending it that night.

Just as well he doesn't care about your respect then....

He fucking literally called out Jose Aldo and the entire top of that Featherweight division from the moment he entered the UFC. And having done what nobody else managed (and many, many tried) and knocking Aldo out, he then went up to a higher weight class to take on somebody who is by far a more intimidating opponent than defending against Frankie Edgar or a Max Holloway whom he destroyed. Are you sure you don't respect him because of him not defending his belt, or do you think maybe you've just found a tiny wee reason to hold onto your blind hatred a little longer?

I'm sure he'll cope.

There's not one person in the world or in the history of the world who's been respected by all.

"He needs to do this and that" - He doesn't need to do anything. Edgar wants his pension retirement fund by fighting Conor. He is one of the few who openly admitted fighting for the money would be an added bonus. He said it last night. He also said he wants to fight for the title and that's the number 1 goal, but what's funny is how he talks about 'wanting to fight this guy for so long' or that he has to vacate the belt because he was holding up the division. That's quite a short memory he has if you factor in the ex Champion who is nearly always on hiatus.

Edgar is doing analyst work and if Conor wins no doubt he'll be there for a post fight interview. He also talked about wanting to get the belt at BW and Cruz is doing the desk as well. Should make for good television.

I disagree...a true champion takes on the biggest challenge.

A win of RDA is x10 more impressive than beating Frankie.

He wants to be way more marketable than MM, TJ and Aldo. Defending the belt in lighter classes will not get you a 9 digit contract.

You're "a" fan.

I respect him the fact that he won the fucking thing in the first place.

You tell em TS.

I'm sure he'll drop right down there and do as you demand so he can earn your respect.
